Re: Could it happen? Next manager suggestions

I feel like Hughes' come and get me thing in the media isn't unrelated. He's become the favourite in my eyes. Not my choice, mind. I'd take Pearson if he'd agree to an interim role, but I think he'd end up twatting Ashley. Which would be a bonus, but the latter party may not agree haha. Howe has to ...

If Bruce leaves we're going to get someone equally as s*** to replace him.
At this rate would we be lucky to get Hughes or Pearson? <laugh>

Re: Match Thread: Arsenal v Newcastle (Easy 3 points)

The guy is a s**** PE teacher at best. Does that make him more or less likely than my high school PE teacher to choke someone? <scratch> I'm going to say less, but not by much. My high school PE teacher used to get us to sing build me up buttercup in the changing rooms whilst half naked. It wasn't ...

Re: FOOTBALL FOR THE WEEK AHEAD

Always happens, don't know why I bother watching the 'big' games now. Always so much hype and build up, commentators try and give it a big match feel, and ultimately both sides show up not to lose and neutral fans are left disappointed. The feeling of being a newcastle fan at the minute in microcosm?

Re: Match Thread: Sheffield Utd v Newcastle

It definitely seems that way now, but I don't think he blagged anything. He did good work at Wigan way back when. Was alright at Sunderland really, arguably had them punching at one point. He's washed up now, and quite clearly is out of depth. I think he's just got jaded after a very long career. O...

Re: Match Thread: Sheffield Utd v Newcastle

I'd take anyone who has played Football Manager before over Bruce... He has got zero idea about football. The man has blagged a managerial career just because he could play at a high level. It definitely seems that way now, but I don't think he blagged anything. He did good work at Wigan way back w...

Re: Could it happen? Next manager suggestions

Yeah based on those rules, Man United wouldn't have been able to bring OGS in from Molde now I don't think. Same with Swansea initially bringing in Graham Potter. Although that might have been different, not entirely sure. While Brexit will make it harder for clubs in general, I don't think we will ...

Re: Could it happen? Next manager suggestions

To carry on the discussion from the match thread, at least other pundits and fans are starting to see how bad he is. He should be under immense pressure, but he won't be with our regime. Eddie Howe is the favourite, but I don't think he's likely even if Bruce does get sacked. Warren Barton had a goo...

Re: Match Thread: Sheffield Utd v Newcastle

When did we have the chance to get Rodgers? <laugh> Again would be a good shout, but doubt he'd work under Ashley. Problem is, even if anyone half decent was willing to come - such as Frank - no one is going to walk out on a stable job midway through a season. Rightly so. But we need a change now, w...

Re: Match Thread: Sheffield Utd v Newcastle

Gerrard in the summer could have potential but not sure he would come under Ashley. Apparently he was one of those sounded out before we ended up with Bruce. More pressingly though, there's no guarantee we will still be in the top flight come the summer. I haven't really paid much attention to the c...

Re: Match Thread: Sheffield Utd v Newcastle

Someone in the mould of Graham Potter would make a lot of sense, although I don't personally know a lot of names. Someone capeable of building the team and developing their own system. And even if we did go down, capeable of keeping the team together and coming back up. Like Dyche at Burnley. Appare...

Re: Match Thread: Sheffield Utd v Newcastle

I fully agree with this and want Bruce gone myself, but the problem is who comes in? He was what - twelve choice in the first place? It'd most likely be a Carver situation and someone in the backroom would have to step up. Neil Redfearn still knocking about? Saying that, Pearson is available again....

Re: Match Thread: Sheffield Utd v Newcastle

Bruce needs to go, surely no pundit or ex pro can defend him anymore, there isnt 3 worse teams in this league, and if bruce stays ive no doubt we'll be playing the cheesey chip inbreds in league 1 very soon I'd say that under Bruce, we're in the mix of three worst teams but if Bruce were to be fire...

Re: Match Thread: Sheffield Utd v Newcastle

Been trying to rationalise this terrible line up. Closest I can get is; ultra-defensive because Bruce knows they need the 3 points so much, he hopes they will get desperate as the game goes on and leave themselves exposed at the back. Left some of the faster players on the bench (Almiron and Murphy...

Re: Match Thread: Sheffield Utd v Newcastle

Three pages before the game even kicks off is a good effort these days haha. Albeit most of it moaning about the clown's ridiculously overly defensive lineup, again. Against possibly one of the worst sides the premier league has ever produced.

Re: Match Thread: Sheffield Utd v Newcastle

<darlow> <yedlin> <fernandez> <clark> <dummett> <mongstaff> <hayden> <murph> <almiron> <fraser> <wilson> Is what I would've liked to see, against Sheffield. Probably too much to ask though. I think those players included are all fit and avalaible. Obviously would have others in as well. Maybe Lewis...

Who do we play in goal now? Like Darlow has done nothing wrong and 'deserves' to keep the shirt but still suspect Dubrovnik might still be a little bit better. Tricky. Someone out there must need a GK, we'll take your best CM in return.

I like Newcastlemouth United (Ritchie, Atsu, Fraser, Wilson...). Eddie Howe is still free... <awe>
Haha it did cross my mind! Atsu wasn’t Bournemouth tho was he?
On loan there from Chelsea for a bit I think
