Re: Rafa leaving official confirmation

There was reports that he wanted specific transfer funds written into his contract and things like that, ironclad guarantees. May just have been speculation, but not something they could just lie about, and clearly a dealbreaker. Still seems like a really unenforceable clause. I don't doubt what yo...

Re: Rafa leaving official confirmation

I'd add, I don't really know why they didn't just lie to him? Like, what assurances could they have possibly made that he would have trusted, or the reverse, wouldn't they have felt fine promising the world and then consistently disappointing like they always have? I'd be really interested what he ...

Re: The next mansger

I'm warming to the idea of Arteta as manager. Be a risk sure, but more exciting than the usual suspects. Highly rated in the game, and been around Pep for a few years. Although a mate of mine pointed out McClaren spent time around Sir Alex, so might not always be the case. I mentioned it in the othe...

On Avram Grant, Arsene Wenger, coaches we’ve never heard of - I reckon that we’re looking for a Director of Football, with a Head Coach/coaching team to work under him. They keep on talking about being sounded out for “a” role, rather than the manager’s job...

There's certainly worse. I'm surprised he's favourite though. Thought it would be Moyes, Hughes, or even Pulis

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2019)

Almiron being loosely linked to Real Madrid. With Rafa looking increasingly likely to go, and seemingly no contingency put in place, this is going to be a f***ing depressing summer.

Re: Players you randomly miss

Can't think of anyone too recent , but first one to come to mind is probably James Perch, was a bit gutted when he left, he had a good journey with us and I honestly thought he still had more to give around the time he left. That's exactly who I was thinking. Was a bit crap at first but he really c...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2019)

Reports in Italy linking us to Diego Laxalt again. Hasn't really worked out for him at Milan, but he'd be an interesting option for that LWB slot. Supposed asking price is around 11-12m.

Re: Ashley Agrees to Sell Newcastle for £350m!

Yeah I imagine the next update, hopefully in the next two weeks or so, will be final in one way or the other. Either seal of approval from the prem to move everything forward, or BZG scurrying off to buy Swansea of something.

Re: Ashley Agrees to Sell Newcastle for £350m!

Got to admit, there is a lot of pessimism creeping in for me now, I wouldn't be surprised at all if the next bit of news we hear is that BZG have walked away from a deal, I think we have genuine buyers and a genuine seller, but I'm convinced Ashley's greed is what will scupper any deal, I honestly ...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2019)

Linked with Donny Van De Beek, looks a quality player, unfortunately been liked with much better and much more organised club than us. We've apparently had scouts watching him a few times through the season. Along with half the premier league. There will be better clubs looking at him, but not nece...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2019)

Can't see a deal for J Lukaku happening again, not after it falling at the final hurdle. His replacement hardly kicked a ball. We definitely need to stregthen in that position, but feel we should definitely look elsewhere. As for Lascelles, he had a bit of a difficult time last year, not to his usua...
