Re: Rodgers in?

This. He's certainly smug and more than a little Brent-ish. But a good coach with a decent record. He'd be among the top of my short list. With rangers being out of the picture for pretty much the entirity of his time in Scotland it's really hard to attribute much of Celtics 'success' to the coachi...

This ridiculous story aside, I’m surprised at some of the comments here about Rodgers. We could do a hell of a lot worse.

Re: England squad for October

They'd need to get to the playoff to lose it, which might be a stretch. In seriousness I like the idea of that, the extra incentive with the nations league for that qualifying space. Gives the s**** like the scots a chance to try and pretend they can compete. I think that it's the biggest flaw of a...

Re: Match day - Man U v NUFC

Wind your neck in. World class team with hundreds of millions worth of players. Yeah we were overly negative in the second half, but they figured out how to be a good team again and we were punished. There were no defensive errors, they just took their chances and stole the result from us. Entirely...

Rafa has to go, absolutely f***ing shocking again. Awful substations & awful game management. Like every game so far this season. Wind your neck in. Re: Steve Bruce no longer a villian

I'm not sure if Pardew, Allardyce et al would go there at this point. Especially as there will likely be premier league openings in the relatively near future. I think if they had been out of a job a bit longer then maybe, but they will know how tough the championship is and how easy it is to miss o...

BBC: Have Newcastle's "Ashley generation" had enough?

Coverage of the recent protests and what not. Not a bad little video, Caulkin features prominently as well. Not that I think the fat man will care one sod, but the coverage can't really hurt. There's plenty of pundits, and media-fed people that believe we are just a bunch of deluded geordies who exp...

Re: Match day - Palace v NUFC

I'm not sure any PSG manager is allowed to tell Neymar what to do. As for Pardew allowing creativity, the second half of the 5th season that was very apparent. Everything clicked and with that 433 with Jonas in the holding midfield role, we were brilliant at times. Cisse couldn't not score, Ben Arf...

Re: Football/Sporting Podcast Recommendations

The Football Ramble is quite light hearted and has a few decent episodes. One of the lads on there is a Newcastle fan as well so we get a decent amount of coverage. Yeah I like the Ramble. Their sister show on the continent is good as well, focuses on European football and has input from serious jo...

Re: Match day - Palace v NUFC

And Rafa has a 10% better win % overall so statistics can be played how you want them to. It’s pretty f***ing obvious Rafa is a better manager than Pardew and if you’re unwilling to admit that then there’s no point in further discussion That's not playing statistics, that's counting a season in the...

Re: Kevin Keegan - “I came up against a wall of incompetence, deceit & arrogance”

“You don’t even have to play this guy,” Dennis said. “We want to keep the agent sweet. If you don’t want the player to train with you, you can put him in the academy. And if you don’t like him, we can get rid of him in January.” Mike had been filled in and the owner’s view was that González didn’t ...

Re: Is there ANYTHING positive about NUFC ?

I'm personally glad we got the absolute stinker game out the way there. A decent team would have put four past us, we were awful. It is a game we would have targeted to win though, not unlike villa when we went down. Can't class it as a positive.

Re: WEEKEND FOOTBALL - 14/17 SEPTEMBER 2018

Joe Hart had a good game. Wolves looked way better than us too. So called football experts seem to think they will finish top eight easy, so that's no surprise. They've done good business, have good backing, and have huge potential. They won't get relegated this season. Won't challenge the europe c...

Re: Best Newcastle squad

I was late to football entirely, and only started following Newcastle the season back in the prem after the first relegation. In my naivety I remember being really excited about Carroll, banging the goals in for years to come. I then followed that up by getting Cabaye on my first ever Newcastle shir...
