Re: New squad after potential takeover

I've seen some stuff saying Poch isn't a winner because he's never won anything, which is a terrible argument that comes up quite a lot. Alec McCleish won the league cup with Brum, so by that logic he's automatically better? Poch has proven with Spurs that he can build and develop a team to an elite...

Re: Toon Takeover Thread

Aye. This is where we get bought and then lose all our remaining games and go down. This is actually a genuine concern to be fair, with the amount of time players have had off its going to be like a new season so there will be no form to be relied on, a bad few games could easily snowball for anybo...

Re: Toon Takeover Thread

This has nothing to do with it. They are far beyond the negotiations and have been since early April, it's all down to the Premier League approving it. It wouldn't matter if it was a £1 between Mary Poppins and Winnie the Pooh , it would still be the same lengthy process. Whoa whoa whoa, let's not ...

Next week in footballers buying lower-league club sponsorship:

Steven Taylor pays to sponsor Sunderland's shirts and donates it to the Post Office, to encourage budding stamp collectors
Wouldn't be surprised if he did that <laugh>

Re: What is your favourite beer brand?

Very late to this thread, but what on earth is pyder? I've personally drinking Aldi's own brand whiskey during lock down. Samuel Joe's. It's pretty good for twelve quid. Otherwise it's lager, usually fosters or Heineken.

"Multi award-winning national sports journalist. If I didn’t know someone, I knew someone that did. Long suffering Portsmouth FC supporter ⚽️"

That's his twitter bio. Not saying that means he is untrustworthy. For me personally though, sounds like a bit of a prick.

Re: Toon Takeover Thread

I tend to lean towards George Caulkin and Keith Downie when it comes to info as they seem to have source(s) close to this deal rather than others that seem to just stir up s***. They are definitely up there on the reliability scale. I'd throw in Luke Edwards from the Telegraph as well, but not sure...

Re: Toon Takeover Thread

https://twitter.com/SkySportsPL/status/1258111539518877696?s=19 There were a vague link to Stones anarll. Odd that we seem to be linked a lot to centre backs, when you could argue that's the strongest position. Whilst we could upgrade in every slot, that's probably the second to last place I'd look...

Re: New squad after potential takeover

The fact that Matty Longstaff's contract doesn't have long to run make a difference. The rest I agree with, and also almost all of our sqaud. I personally don't think we will sell off many of our players, because there simply isn't the market for them - even before covid. Looks like Manquillo might ...

1 win in 8 games, that’s good by his standards. https://twitter.com/skysportsnews/status/1255192059557941254?s=21 He's massively gone down hill the last few years. He was quite well known for the Pardew slide, for years before us, where he'd start really well then just drop off a cliff. Because he ...

Re: NUFC Underdogs XI

Ayoze Perez - I think people forget he was signed for the reserves, another one that had to be thrown in amongst an injury crisis. His first few games he was played as a lone striker and came up with some big goals whilst being given very little support. Given the amount of flak he got in coming ye...

Re: Should We Walk Away or Take Action?

Oh, I love this idea. As stated there, we as fans can do nothing with regards of the potential new owners. It's exciting to think about the potential we have under such a regime, but at the same time it's clear abhorrent when you look at where the money comes from. I'm firmly in the camp that we tak...

I'd like to see a fresh face so Allegri or Favre. I just don't know why the new owners would leak stuff like this so early. I think Ge...
