Re: The next manager?

This grubby mess takes yet another turn. Sheffield Wednesday rightly challenging Ashley and his announcement on the 'APPOINTMENT' of latest club coach and support team The EPL / FA or whomsoever governs the league should sanction Ashley for utterly negligent and downright unfit and proper person to ...

Re: The next manager?

According to reports Sheff Wed want 5m Ashley has offered 3m when is this farce going to end <neg> Well, according to the Times business section yesterday, big article about the struggles and accounting 'errors' in Ashley's business empire. IMO he'll never be a willing seller for the cash cow that ...

Not in most people's opinion the best or unbiased broadcast medium, but TALKSOPRT today @9am might be worth a listen. Michael Chopra calling it as it is at Newcastle ................allegedly !
We'll see.

Also... Bruce has resigned. Looks like it's happening.
Resigned !?
So it gets murkier and more distasteful by the hour.
Ashley will be telling Shef Wed soon he'll see them in court.
This just gets more and more grubby by the day

Re: The next manager?

:( If Bruce takes this gig, I'd be fascinated to listen to his justification ? Seriously, he's not an idiot, he must have a sense of what's going on here. Hopefully none of this clichéd, I'm a Geordie, its my boy hood dream team, its something I just couldn't turn down, always been my ambition.........

Re: The next manager?

Still in two minds as to whether to renew my membership and go to the Arsenal game but if Bruce is appointed then that's me finished. <neg> Decision made! Save £40 odd on ticket, £36 on membership, £100 on hotel, £60 on petrol, £100 on meals & drinks plus what the missus spends in the shops. Can ha...

Re: The next manager?

Does Bruce fully appreciate what he's getting himself into? In his shoes I'd steer well clear of Newcastle. He'll be barracked by the fans, likely disrespected by demotivated players, not given funds to sign anyone beyond the usual bare minimum loans, watch us get bulldozed by every club until he g...

Re: The next manager?

People are free to do as they wish, and I won't judge them for wanting to watch their team, but they are enabling Ashley. Say what you want about the % income coming from matchday, but >50% attendance would cost a lot more than the drop in income. We'd be picked less for TV and sponsors wouldn't be...

Re: The next manager?

Young up and coming managers won’t come anywhere near us under the current regime. They have very little to gain, will have to work in an incredibly challenging setting and chances are will have very little opportunity to enhance their reputation. Disagree. I would say the biggest problem for the c...

Re: The next manager?

Bruce was recently interviewed and was quite happy at Sheffield Wed. He was alluding to the long term project, the promotion aim etc. He looked quite chilled at the thought of the gig ahead. For me that said it all , he's at his level, a plodding big team in the Championship with no immediate demand...

Re: Rafa leaving official confirmation

£25m after tax for two years.............could see him suffering that. In all honestly though, Rafa and Chinese football , come on. Anyway, he's gone, he was the Newcastle high water mark in recent years in terms of managerial appeal, albeit not everyone's pragmatic answer. He set a standard and has...

Re: The next manager?

I don't think we have ever payed compensation for a manager (can't think of one anyway) under Ashley so who do you think will get the job. Some out of work managers that are in the running according to the bookies are. Sam Allardyce Claudio Ranieri Laurent Blanc Mark Hughes Quique Sanchez Flores Da...
