Re: Matchday thread - Toon v PSG
Apart from the atrocious penalty decision, I note the Mbappé refused to shake the Toon players’ hands, haha.

Get Bruno and Isak off before the Spuds go on a revenge mission. Romero has form for maiming oppo players, as do Kulusevski and Kane. And Son.

It would never work, but....
Hatem Ben Arfa’s a free agent. I know he’s not very professional, but oh for just ONE more mazy run, one more «how the feck did he do that?» goal. A bit like an ex who, even though you know exactly why she was bad news you can’t help thinking «but the good bits, phwoaaarrr.» HBA is as mad as a march...

As an impact sub, obviously. I don't see him as a starter, even over Muto.ToonViking wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 4:40 pmimagine the fear of the oppo's defence when he comes on.

Re: Return of Andy Carroll
He's been terrible these last couple of seasons, but if he's match fit, imagine the fear of the oppo's defence when he comes on. I mean, even if he doesn't score, he'll spread the pain around, and spread it liberally. Big Andy on a pay-as-you-play? Bring it on!

Re: Joelinton Signs for Newcastle
I haven't seen Joelinton play, but I've heard Tim Vickery sing his praises on a couple of occasions, including the last edition of BBC's "World Football Phone-In" on Friday night. He also said he was interested to see how the Joelinton-Almirón partnership would work out. He seemed to have high hopes...

Steve Bruce, is it? I'm generally an optimist, but I've just renamed my Fantasy team "Doon Army."

Re: The next manager?
I think the most likely scenario is Ashley staying on to asset strip the club á la the Oystons. If so, then at least give us a few months of Gattuso madness and passion.
Anyroad, to quote the late, great Phil Lynott, "I'd rather go down smiling."

And so it begins. In 2021 we'll be rocking up at Prenton Park, a year after that we'll go to the OTHER St Jame's Park to match up against Exeter. It's going well, isn't it?

Re: Newcastle Utd vs Bournemouth - 05/03/16
You know it's not good when your reaction to Ayoze's goal is "Oh no, please no, don't give me any more false hope, just let me sit here getting to grips with my club becoming a Ch'ship club. Oh, and I think Schteve should just concede the last 10 games, as it's not fair on the punters who have to pa...

Re: Newcastle Utd vs West Ham - 24/05/15
Texted the landlord before the game, saying there might be loudness emanating from downstairs, as the Toon were fighting for survival. They were quite understanding, really. They've got 5 St Bernard dogs, so they're used to a bit of nois, mind. Anyroad, thank f**k that went okay, as I'm too old for ...
