Re: Match day thread - Fulham v NUFC

That 10 game spell or whatever it was without a win over Christmas time. Can't help but wonder what might of been. Defeats at home against Leeds and Palace and away at Sheffield particularly poor results.

Re: Mackems

Wish them well next season, bigger club that League 1. But ultimately couldn't care less. Live and let be or whatever the phrase is, they've got their struggles and we've got ours. There's no overlap. Let's focus on us.

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2021)

For me it's got to be Willock and a second choice striker to replace Carroll but be ahead of Joelinton and Gayle. The squad is quite adaptable, Krath can play RB or CB, Murphy can play RB or Winger, Joelinton can play out wide if we're really desperate, Hayden can slot into CB and even RB if things ...

Think Ritchie has been a class act since he's come back into the team. His position to lose for me.

Re: European super league

I only hope it didn't all end so quickly that big fat punishment's won't be dished out. I'm sort of in two minds, I feel for the fans of these clubs who have no say, but I'm also here for all the entertainment. And big fat punishments are the next step.

Love this from NUFC.com

In the week that COVID restrictions began to ease, Newcastle provided some much-needed (PL) table service at Gallowgate on Saturday - although the outdoor hospitality from both sides was worryingly abundant...

Re: Match day thread - NUFC v WHU

Dubravka should have kept there first goal out too. Shout out to Matt Ritchie too, he's been very good since he came back in, crucial assists from the left too (last week to Joelinton to head back) and shown he's a crucial player for us.

Re: Match day thread - NUFC v WHU

I'm not sure how good he is, but what a loan signing Willock has been. That kid gets into all the right areas. We were seriously lucky today, somehow bumbled into a 2-0 lead against 10 men without doing much and then proceeded to blow it. As someone above said, got away with murder. Take it and run,...

Re: Funny relegation story - supporter gets jailed?

I think maybe some of the details have changed over time but I do clearly remember this story, though with a few subtle changes. It wasn't a supporter, it was actually Swiss winger Tranquillo Barnetta, of Bayer Leverkusen. And he wasn't jailed as such, but did spend a significant term, some 6 months...

Re: Bruce staying

I think with the players Rafa had he did a very, very good job. I'm not sure many would have done better. That central midfield was and is woeful. He found a system that basically didn't need it. I'd have him back in a hearbeat.

Re: Cheltenham Festival 2021

His last horse ended up falling too! Great sell by him. Spiritofthegames finished 8 today - very frustrating as he was the biggest bet - but Hunstmans Cross nabbed 6th at 40/1 and Storm Control managed to get into the places too at 16/1. Tomorrow I am quite strong on these Zanahiyr - Race 1 - Boring...

Re: Cheltenham Festival 2021

Not the best day yesterday but it can't always be sunshine and bubbles. Guard Your Dreams just ran into the top 7 and Sir Gerhard did indeed turn over the odds on favourite in the bumper. Hard to be too confident today but with lots of top 6 and top 7 races, Ive thrown a few bullets around at big pr...

Re: Cheltenham Festival 2021

An interesting day today, Black Tear nutting Concertista right on the jam stick before Saint Sam only found an 80/1 rag too good. Day 2 is loaded with quality but also devoid of a certain spark. In the first I do like Gaillard de Mesnil 9/4 to lower the flag of the favourite Bob Olinger and in the 2...

Re: Cheltenham Festival 2021

Race two should go to the odds on Shishkin and race three could well be another favourite in Happygolucky. Those who like big prices eachway could maybe do worse than Vintage Clouds . He was 2nd and 3rd in this race before finishing down the field last year. He's been in no sort of form since then a...

Re: Cheltenham Festival 2021

As uninspiring as a day at the Cheltenham Festival as I can remember on Tuesday. The first race - the Supreme - sees Appreciate It a warm favourite. Trained by Willie Mullins, who has a fine record in this race (and in most races) in recent years, his main danger to my eye looks to be fellow Irish r...
