Re: Arsenal v Newcastle

Like I say it would be a left field option, but choice is severely limited and I don't think anyone could do a worse job than the current captain.

Re: Arsenal v Newcastle

I'm at the point where I'm just excited at the prospect of getting rid of some players in January/Summer. Ritchie, Lascelles the priority imo, but a lot more on borrowed time. Who would you make captain if we sold Lacelles? I'd go with Dubravka. Interesting question, wouldn't argue against Dubravka...

Re: New Manager: Eddie Howe Confirmed

A lot of confusion comes from the starting point for isolation, if you have symptoms on the Tuesday but don't test positive until the Friday then you start the 10 days isolation from the the day the symptoms started so in that case it would be from the Tuesday. If Asymptomatic then you start from th...

Re: The Managerial Merry-Go-Round Thread

Yeah, also seems his reputation comes from him building teams up, so think it could go either way for him. I do find it odd that for all the talk of how great he is, it seems like not many top to mid level clubs have been lining up to appoint him.

Re: The Managerial Merry-Go-Round Thread

Apparently he's a bit of a control freak and can be difficult to work with so hopefully it's a disaster for them. <laugh>

Re: The Managerial Merry-Go-Round Thread

Looking like he will take over from Woodward at end of the season, basically done what I wanted us to do before we got Howe.

Re: New Kit 21/22

Yeah hats off to them, there's absolutely no reason every club PL couldn't either a) run one kit for 2 seasons or b) sell them for half the price. If they did run them for multiple seasons then they could probably justify the current price of a kit. I'd be more willing to pay £65 for a shirt if I k...

It's a shame that this is a surprise these days, I'm old enough to remember the same kit being used through multiple seasons, hopefully this leads the way to a shift back to those...

Re: January Transfer Rumours/Wishlist 21/22

Been linked with that Vlahovic a few times, another who would have some better options right now. Our transfer business will be massively effected by the next month, need to pick up some wins and look in a decent position to avoid relegation.

Re: match day thread - NUFC v Brentford

I'm glad my defence of Joelinton has paid off <laugh> he put together all the good things about him yesterday, he's a grafter and think he was shattered by the end which contributed to that slip in the box, still needs that confidence in front of goal though, probably could have shot first time towa...

Re: match day thread - NUFC v Brentford

Agree that Dubravka must come back in, he’s clearly fit. Amazingly we’re only 5 points from safety. Although it’s clearly a case that Norwich at home is an absolute must win. As things stand the only write off games will be Liverpool and Man City imo. Arsenal, Leicester, Man Utd are winnable, next ...

Re: match day thread - NUFC v Brentford

We win that with Dubravka, he helps the defence massively compared to Darlow, he doesn't fumble a routine save, he doesn't allow attackers to advance onto over hit passes and he doesn't smash the ball directly out of play when we are countering late In the game. Darlow was absolutely dreadful today.

Re: match day thread - NUFC v Brentford

Their 3rd goal is down to **** Darlow again, if he comes and collects the ball in that first phase we have possession. but he doesn't and then gives them another free attack, at fault for 2 today.

Re: match day thread - NUFC v Brentford

Darlow always does this has a steady start then just drops clangers all the time, like I said this time last year Dubravka is better in every way. Hopefully this is Darlows last game for us.

Also Joelinton looking like he's enjoying himself out there, probably our best player in that first half.

Re: match day thread - NUFC v Brentford

Schar removes the need for Shelvey to drop so deep so hopefully he plays further forward than normal and give us an ok forward pass to keep us on the front foot.

Re: match day thread - NUFC v Brentford

Thinking it will be
Darlow

Schar -- Lascelles -- Clark

Murphy - Shelvey - Willock - Ritchie

Joelinton -- Wilson -- ASM

Or

Darlow

Murphy Schar Lascelles Clark

Ritchie Shelvey Willock ASM

Joelinton

Wilson

Re: New Manager: Eddie Howe Confirmed

The good thing is this is a tight knit coaching team, Eddie will always have these guys with him because they have all bought into and understand the philosophy, Tindall will be more than prepared to step up for the game today also being absent probably has some advantages in terms of having access ...

Re: Lee Charnley Leaves the Club

None of us can know what the goings on were within the club during this time so judging how much of the disappointing Ashley era can be laid at his door is a pretty futile exercise. Personally I doubt his authority extended to setting budgets or deciding what it was spent on, which let's face it we...
