Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Borussia Dortmund

Good evening lads, I hope you're all in the rudest of health. I hope I'm not black balled from this fine site after such a long absence, it's a long story. My old username was jimileysbaldhead but when I attempted to log in it seemed to present an issue which I'm too old and dim to sort out. Really...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v PSG

Totally astonishing. Watching Longstaff smash in that third turned me back into an 8 year old kid again, felt like every kid ever born on Tyneside scored that one <laugh>.

Is that the record for highest number of individual goalscorers for one team in a PL match?
Yes it is!

Edit - actually turns out the Man United match included an own goal from the opposite team, so we have the record alone.

Re: The Carabao Cup Final matchday thread

Weren't at our best, but some of the lads played their bollocks off nonetheless so it's hard to fault the effort even if the quality wasn't there. Maxi's game was our game in a nutshell, lots of runs and turns around the edge of their box but no end product and a couple of gaffes. My little lad's ab...

Seeing that Souness can't pronounce Saudi he seems to be backing some Sodi owners for a biblically epic battle once Gomorrah sorts it's s*** out.
Maybe that'll happen once he gets round to pronouncing Bruno's name.

Grumpy Klopp turning it up to 11. Red card for whinging while they're winning!
He's the sorest of sore winners isn't he. His moaning when Liverpool win is sulkier than the average sore loser's groans after a loss. Hilarious person.

Re: Matchday thread - Manchester United v Toon

As somebody has already said, it is a sign of the team's improvement that we can draw away at Man U and feel disappointed. In this instance without even really playing that well. Good result! Yep, a draw at Old Trafford without ASM or Isak is a good result to feel a bit gutted about. Even though it...

Re: Eddie Howe

Love the guy, he's doing an amazing job all round and he seems like a canny lad as well. Tbh I had no thoughts on how he'd do when he first came, I was just excited to see a proper fresh start, and he offered something different and unknown when coupled with serious financial backing.

Re: Match Thread: Liverpool v Newcastle

Not sure if I've ever seen a clearer example of sore winners than Liverpool fans over this one. Can they not just win a game? Does a win also have to be rewritten as a moral victory against injustice? Joelinton, the guy who got the ball in Liverpool's corner deep into injury time and immediately swu...

Re: Match Thread: Liverpool v Newcastle

What’s nice (in a way, taking the positives) is that we’re gutted to lose. How many years under Ashley did most of us simply stop caring, laugh or shrug it off when we lost week after week? <ok> and tbh I'd already written this off as a loss after the press conference when it turned out nearly all ...
