Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2019)

So apparently we took out a loan with Barclays to cover the Almiron signing... What does that mean for the club and possible sale in future?

Re: Micky Gray talking cobblers on TalkSport. Again.

Yeah, it took 3 years from the Man City purchase (2008) to them winning the FA Cup and qualifying for the CL (2011). With bottomless funding, we could easily do the same. As always in this sport, money talks the loudest.

It's grim news and though not confirmed yet, it seems pretty certain a crash like that would have killed all on board. RIP

Re: Ashley “close to conceding defeat” re: selling the club

He's an owner in the mould of Hicks and Gillett. The main difference is that there's only one of him so there aren't quite the same conflagrations in the boardroom. But I'm beginning to believe that the next time this club gets sold it will be as part of a court order.

It is small change, but it's utterly absurd that a football club that has a foodbank outside it on a matchday should give quarter of a million pounds to a well paid exec as a present. Just give him a f***ing tie.

Re: WEEKEND FOOTBALL - 31 AUGUST/2 SEPTEMBER 2018

I had no problems letting Mitro away, because I knew we wouldn't play him or get the best out of him. What I have a problem with is getting a decent price for him and not replacing him with more than Rondon. Rondon is a fine player but we need someone he can play understudy to.

I doubt Muto is ready for 90 mins of Premier League football, and doesn't seem to be entirely happy that Rondon is settled yet.
I'd take an unsettled Rondon over Joselu.

Re: The Marlon Santos Thread (£1.5m loan fee agreed; awaiting work permit)

What were they doing even wasting their last hours trying to bring him in? It's their job to know and understand these things, and it seems pretty obvious he was always going to fail the permit process - especially without the opportunity of an appeal. But I'd add, is there a (major) footballing co...

Re: Salomon Rondon to sign this weekend? -- Salomon Swapped!

He's the least hyped striker to sign for us since Lovenkrands. Hope he ends up as much of a fan fave and scores a hatful into the bargain. I'm quietly pleased that in him and Muto we seem to have two attacking players who are going to give it their all and listen to the manager. http://i1.thejourna...

Re: Salomon Rondon to sign this weekend?

I'm not too bothered by that, so long as we have an option to buy in case he turns out to be worth buying. Plus leaves more money for other players we need this window. Last year of his contract, so unless he signs a new deal won't need one. He will be in a strong bargaining position though, especi...

Re: Salomon Rondon to sign this weekend?

So apparently it's going to be a loan swap with Gayle <laugh> And if anyone needs it Samaritans: 116 123 (UK) **** it, if he's more useful I'll take that for a year. We're in danger of starting the season under a cloud. I'm thinking that Ashley is hoping to sell this year and sees the club as more ...
