Re: Could it happen? Next manager suggestions
A Shame for SB as he is a genuinely nice guy - but I reckon less than 5% of nufc fans would have welcomed his appointment..... ......Surely our view matters ? The problem is we are stuck with Ashley for now and no serious top manager would come. Eddie Howe would probably come as he is still young an...

Re: XMAS FOOTBALL 2020 (PART 2)
Given that Lpool have lost all their centre halves .... suggest we get Wilson and Carrol On the pitch and give then some aerial bombardment
If Carrol is out again suggest Gayle

Re: Match Thread - Brentford v Newcastle (LC QF)
Having watched Fulham a few times - and realising that they actually have a fair bit more than us- my arse is starting to twitch again looking at the foot of the table. Burnley stating to motor , Brighton better than us, as are Palace ( by a mile 🤔) the only teams looking like relegation certs are ...

Re: Match thread - Newcastle v Chelsea
I now begin to understand why my Sunderland fan mates told me that things will gradually deterioate under Bruce.... Like Allerdyce and one or two others I can think of - he's à reactive manager - tries to reshape his team to subdue the opponent. No problem with this - as long as you remember where t...

Re: Match day thread: Newcastle v Man U
I feel like every time I offer responses on here now they are largely the same, and they all reiterate one of my more recent posts: regardless whether we win, lose or draw, there is just no fun in watching us anymore. There was a time when I would rinse my bank account (when I was a student so it i...

Re: Match day thread: Newcastle v Man U
Ask any Sunderland fan what they think of Bruce... and they'll tell you First season not bad Second season worse. Third season s*** Clueless- one of those godawful managers whose only take on the game is how to stifle the opposition. He's the antithesis of a Keegan or a Ferguson. Where the f***s Alm...

Now I feel I understand better why SB has never managed at the sharp end. Miggy was razor sharp when he first arrived with a blizzard of assists. But no goals.... Then the no goals criticism started to tell and his form dipped. Then the goals came- Goals and assists. Back to his best - and in my vie...

Just in case it wasn't mentioned enough times ( I counted 6) yesterday by Messrs Shearer, Lineker, Richards, + commentary team...
.... Can I just reiterate that Kevin De Bruyne is a wonderfully wonderfully sublimely gifted footballer.

Re: Match thread - NUFC v Citeh - FA cup QF
I don't think anyone (other than forced defensive clearances) gave the ball away more than ASM in the first half. I know it's difficult under the circumstances, but if you're playing like that you need your better players to be spot on and we didn't have that yesterday. It was the 9-1-1 tactics com...

Re: Match thread - NUFC v Citeh - FA cup QF
If Bruce wanted to embellish his chances of being manager after the takeover then he has just f***ed it. Dreadful 1st half tactics- literally the worst half match on our part I have EVER WITNESSED. In 2nd half why take of Almiron ?? Is he saving him for the league- which Is done and dusted. That's t...

Re: Match day thread - NUFC v MUFC
The second half of last season actually got me interested in footie again as we actually played some good stuff. A lot of it stemmed from the introduction of Almiron with his pace , passing and attacking intent. I don't think you can over estimate the impact somebody like that has on the rest of the...

Re: The next manager?
Just trying to think a bit positively now. Now that Bruce is here we should get behind him and the team- the latest signing is positive and we need a couple more. Perhaps Bruce's recent contact with Arrons and Lazaar can work in our favour. And unless I'm mistaken - the takeover is still on the card...

Re: Rafa leaving official confirmation
If (and I don’t think it is the case) that is the case I’d be worried about the new owners. I highly doubt that Rafa is asking for silly money to spend on players, and the value he brought to the team far outweighed modest transfer demands. Any new business owner who's paying 250m deserves the righ...
