Re: Match thread - Wolves v Toon

Just got home from the match and haven’t read through what people have been saying. But for me: 1) a draw isn’t an unfair result based on the game and chances created. 2) yeah it was 94:52 or whatever when they scored but it’s a minimum of 4 mins stoppage time and we were doing a bit of time wastin...

Re: January 2019 Signing #2 Miguel Almiron (Club record £21m!)

Whatever happens hopefully our fans realise for once that moving to a new continent is a massive f***ing change and it will take time for him to settle and sort everything in your life out (football is only football). Any of us moving to the USA would take time to get used to new cultures and being...

Re: January 2019 signing #1 Antonio Barreca

Yeah to be really clear I don't think he's horrific, he's just by far our defensive weak link in a back 4, and opposition sides know that. That for me isn't "the complete full back", and I think he's far better in his current position. He's definitely better than Danny Simpson. Don't get me started...

Re: 16 games left to average 1.25 points* per game (Thanks to Speedo for correcting my Maths)

Just looking at games left for the dead men I would conservatively put NUFC on 37 points - could be a lot more Huddersfield gone Obv. Fulham are down - just checked their fixtures. Doubt they will get even close to 30 pts That leaves Cardiff - Just checked their fixtures. With a following wind they ...

Re: Match thread.FA cup NUFC v Watford

I think Rafa is using this as another ad / atrocity exhibition to persuade Mike to dig deeper.

Can't blame him.

We would never win this cup with this team

Re: Match day thread: Chelsea v Newcastle (Sat, 5.30pm)

I don't think we'll be relegated We're better then at least 3 other teams, Huddersfield, Fulham and Cardiff will go down I think If we can beat Cardiff at home I will remain fairly sure we can stay up. Looking at the games of all the bottom clubs up to Brighton - many have harder run ins than us af...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2019)

Much of the focus appears to on left back. / wingback One of those would be nice but much more urgent is attacking centeal midfield / No 10 playmakers- somebody who can make things happen around the opposing goal. I thought Muto might be this but we haven't seen him. Lets loan in a couple if we cann...

Re: Match day thread - NUFC v Watford

Yeah there are bigger things, but the forum has lost a s*** load of regular posters over the last couple of years. Personally I like reasoned debate. We’ve gone from matchday threads with 20-30+ pages to barely scraping 5 or 6. I think the poor format stops people engaging. They should replicate th...

Re: Match day thread - NUFC v Watford

Burnley winning just caps off a s***ty weekend of results. With the run of games coming up it would be a brave man to bet against us being in the bottom three by the time we play Cardiff. What a massive game that is shaping up to be. I know I've mentioned it but the failure to beat Fulham could be ...

Re: Match day thread - NUFC v Watford

This could be an important point. Next month is going to be very tough - tgen it gets easier. We need to go for Cardiff at home - we need to win that otherwise I fear we could drop back to relegation zone by end of Jan. I'm happy enough with the defence - we need attacking midfield options. - and an...

Re: Match day thread - NUFC v Fulham

Dull, horrible game to watch. We have no imagination or creativity at all. Need Shevely back in asap and also were on earth is Muto? Get him off the bench Rafa don't let him rot on the bench!! No murphy either.. also even though Manquillo was good last week we should have started with Yedelin if we...

Re: Match day thread - NUFC v Fulham

Like to know why we were still playing Manquillo with Yedlin on the bench.

And when do we get to see what Muto can do? Why did we buy him- just to warm the bench?

Re: Sky: Peter Kenyon in talks about taking over NUFC

If I'm being really cynical I would observe the following. If a deal is close- why would Ashley stir up the media? We need faces in Jan . If we don't get them and it looks like same old - perhaps Benitez walks (I think unless there's a real sign of change he will be gone in next 6-8 months). Is Ashl...

On BBC news this morning...

Can Ashley be so devious as to rustle this story up in time for the Jan transfer window.?

Would it work playing Shelvey in the #10 position? He'd have to make sure that he stayed up there and not drop deep to try and get the ball but f***ing hell he must be more capable than Perez.
Not nearly mobile enough.

Re: Match day thread - Burnley v NUFC

Did I miss something earlier in the thread? Was making an observation about the game this evening, not necessarily debating who should start etc. Just thought Ki had a good game. There were a few comments about the impact of Rafa's signings which were countered (partly) with the observation that he...
