Re: The next manager?

Just trying to think a bit positively now. Now that Bruce is here we should get behind him and the team- the latest signing is positive and we need a couple more. Perhaps Bruce's recent contact with Arrons and Lazaar can work in our favour. And unless I'm mistaken - the takeover is still on the card...

Re: Rafa leaving official confirmation

If (and I don’t think it is the case) that is the case I’d be worried about the new owners. I highly doubt that Rafa is asking for silly money to spend on players, and the value he brought to the team far outweighed modest transfer demands. Any new business owner who's paying 250m deserves the righ...

Re: Rafa leaving official confirmation

People thinking there's going to be new owners 😂 I wish I could share your optimism It's optimism tinged with a sense of dread about could be happening. If Ashley is still to be our owner still I will be very angry. But my main anger will be with anyone foolish enough to have already purchased a se...

Re: Rafa leaving official confirmation

Still seems like a really unenforceable clause. I don't doubt what you're saying is true, but from a legal standpoint, I think it'd be pretty hard to require the employer spend x-million pounds per window or whatever. Like I said, think it's purely speculation. As for it being enforceable, yeah pos...

I'm done unless a takeover follows.
The takeover HAS to happen now.

HOLD BACK THOSE SEASON TICKET PURCHASES UNTIL IT'S 100% DONE

IF YOU BUY A SEASON TICKET NOW THEN YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM

Re: Ashley Agrees to Sell Newcastle for £350m!

I'm getting bored waiting for any sort of progress on this now. My suspicions are raised again. Why does the story always 'leak' just around the transfer window.? If ZBG were serious buyers - why would they leak it? Anybody buying a season ticket yet is a compete MUG imo. Don't renew till it's done ...

They are Arabs aren’t they ?
No one seems to mind when people mention that the Glazer family are American.
It's not quite the same .

The term Arab is a generic term covering people from a multitude of countries including UAE.

Why dont we simply refer to them as the Bin Zayed Group ?

Man. I feel sorry for them. I don’t know why but I do.
I'm tempted to smirk.

Must've been a desperate moment when the winner rattled the net .

But I'm being diplomatic - My old man is a Sunderland fan.
Poor Bugger - at 84 it's doubtful he'll ever see them back in the LL

Re: Match thread - Toon v Huddersfield

Lejeune was awesome judging by what I saw on MOTD.
Passing it 40- 60 yards to feet several times and really transforming the play. Who needs midfield quarter backs when you have defenders who can pass like this?

Re: Match thread - Wolves v Toon

Just got home from the match and haven’t read through what people have been saying. But for me: 1) a draw isn’t an unfair result based on the game and chances created. 2) yeah it was 94:52 or whatever when they scored but it’s a minimum of 4 mins stoppage time and we were doing a bit of time wastin...

Re: January 2019 Signing #2 Miguel Almiron (Club record £21m!)

Whatever happens hopefully our fans realise for once that moving to a new continent is a massive f***ing change and it will take time for him to settle and sort everything in your life out (football is only football). Any of us moving to the USA would take time to get used to new cultures and being...

Re: January 2019 signing #1 Antonio Barreca

Yeah to be really clear I don't think he's horrific, he's just by far our defensive weak link in a back 4, and opposition sides know that. That for me isn't "the complete full back", and I think he's far better in his current position. He's definitely better than Danny Simpson. Don't get me started...

Re: 16 games left to average 1.25 points* per game (Thanks to Speedo for correcting my Maths)

Just looking at games left for the dead men I would conservatively put NUFC on 37 points - could be a lot more Huddersfield gone Obv. Fulham are down - just checked their fixtures. Doubt they will get even close to 30 pts That leaves Cardiff - Just checked their fixtures. With a following wind they ...

I think Rafa is using this as another ad / atrocity exhibition to persuade Mike to dig deeper.

Can't blame him.

We would never win this cup with this team

Re: Match day thread: Chelsea v Newcastle (Sat, 5.30pm)

I don't think we'll be relegated We're better then at least 3 other teams, Huddersfield, Fulham and Cardiff will go down I think If we can beat Cardiff at home I will remain fairly sure we can stay up. Looking at the games of all the bottom clubs up to Brighton - many have harder run ins than us af...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2019)

Much of the focus appears to on left back. / wingback One of those would be nice but much more urgent is attacking centeal midfield / No 10 playmakers- somebody who can make things happen around the opposing goal. I thought Muto might be this but we haven't seen him. Lets loan in a couple if we cann...

Re: Match day thread - NUFC v Watford

Yeah there are bigger things, but the forum has lost a s*** load of regular posters over the last couple of years. Personally I like reasoned debate. We’ve gone from matchday threads with 20-30+ pages to barely scraping 5 or 6. I think the poor format stops people engaging. They should replicate th...
