Re: Match day thread - Huddersfield v NUFC

Good results today with Fulham, Cardiff, Burnley and obviously Huddersfield all losing. If we beat an awful Fulham side next weekend things will be looking good. If we win, that would have us on 19 points at the halfway mark (as we'll lose at Anfield), so almost certainly halfway there points-wise ...

Re: Blizzard article on Ben Arfa

Ben Arfa is the definitive case of 'what could have been'. I loved him when he signed for us, but everyone seems to forget all of those games where he'd just stand around doing nothing, or try to beat 4 defenders on his own rather than passing it, or coming back to pre-season a stone overweight. I ...

Re: Match day thread - Huddersfield v NUFC

Good win. Need to back it up next weekend though.

Kenedy needs to be dropped now. On the evidence of this season both Murphy and Atsu deserve to be ahead of him in the pecking order - and neither of them have been particularly good. He's just not much of anything really, is he?

Re: Match day - NUFC v Wolves ( 4pm live on Sky )

I'm more gutted that we lost to an absolutely s*** team, they were awful and somehow snuck 3 points. Made absolutely no sense to drop Schar either, and if Dummett was fit enough to be on the bench he should be starting . Rafa baffles me at times. Massive two games coming up, anything less than 6 po...

Re: Match day - NUFC v Wolves ( 4pm live on Sky )

It was The Mike Dean show today, as it often is. Yedlin may have been a red, but their lad almost certainly should have seen red and it's a different game after that. No idea why on earth we were bombing forward trying to get a winner either, it was always going to cost us. I'm more gutted that we l...

Re: Protest Plans

I think the Magpie Group have turned a lot of people off due to their rhetoric. Going in with a tone that suggests 'if you don't support us or the protests you obviously don't care and like Ashley' is ludicrous. There's no professionalism, they're acting like they're the spokesman for over 50,000 pe...

Re: Match day thread - Burnley v NUFC

Genuine question - when was the last time a team had a player sent off against us? I legitimately can't remember.

Re: Richard Scudamore's £5 million farewell gift

Wow! Where's that stat from OT? I think that some managers 'deserve' a level of compensation if they've been harshly dismissed (I'd put someone like Conte into that, and Hughton when he was here), but the size of some of the payouts for people who were clearly doing bad jobs defies belief. Makes me...

f***ing atrocious and indicative of the state of football at the moment. No wonder more and more supporters are reporting a huge disconnect with their clubs when s*** like this is happening.

Re: Match day thread - NUFC v Bournemouth

I tell you what, we're lucky there are some poor teams in the division this year. 9 points after 12 games and we're somehow 14th, what's all that about <laugh> any other year we'd probably be bottom

1-1, think we'll stifle them, snatch a goal, sit back and they'll inevitably equalise then we'll be hanging on for dear life come the end

Re: Match thread - NUFC v Watford

He did. There's a sizeable proportion of the crowd who blame Perez for all of our failings, despite playing in a position that means he barely ever gets the ball in a threatening position. He's not perfect, and dropping him will hopefully push him on, but some of the vitriol is pathetic. People see...

Re: Match thread - NUFC v Watford

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DrHDQlaWkAAw9VU.jpg It was totally unnecessary to boo him as you should never ever boo your own players, but I don't feel the criticism of him has been over the top. He's been very poor this season and he deserved to be dropped. He may have scored yesterday but Ki had mo...

Re: Rafa Out?

I think exceptionally might be pushing it. You could maybe say we were unlucky in the Chelsea one (late winner, but we certainly didn't deserve that late equaliser just before, it was a pathetic performance defending a 1-0 loss), and Man Utd was half good before an utter capitulation, but we set up...

Re: Lascelles signs new six-year contract

I'm delighted, but the cynic in my can't help but think this is just the club's way of protecting their asset when the big boys come calling if we go down.
