Re: Could it happen? Next manager suggestions
To carry on the discussion from the match thread, at least other pundits and fans are starting to see how bad he is. He should be under immense pressure, but he won't be with our regime. Eddie Howe is the favourite, but I don't think he's likely even if Bruce does get sacked. Warren Barton had a go...

Re: Match thread - Newcastle v Chelsea
I honestly don't think we were THAT bad. Maybe I missed the Southampton match thread where everyone was trying nooses after the game. I watched that match though and we were shocking, like literally the worst I've seen us play in eons! Some people say we are getting worse. No. We're not, this was b...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2020)
I'm happy to see him depart. He isn't a worldbeater and his style of play doesn't suit whatever it is the Cabbage has them playing i.e. hoofball. Cash in on the £30m and let the lad sit on the bench at a team that will not make it past the last 16 in the CL. That's his level.

Everton are playing well - I can't see Newcastle getting anything from this one. 2-0

Tough break on Jetro, looked better than most we've had in that position for the past 10 years.

Re: Newcastle defenders Dummet and Willems out for season
And it sounds like the team are focusing on CM signings in the wake of inadequate cover for defensive and attacking positions.
I mean, we still f***ing have Saivet on the books - do they learn nothing?

Re: Match day thread - Chelsea v NUFC
As most predicted, this was always going to be a horrible season of horrible football, ruined by allowing the manager and the goals to leavein the summer. The 0.2 Expected Goals stat from Saturday's performance is the most obvious and quotable statistic. I honestly don't see where the goals will com...

It's clear he's not capable and never was. Fired by November, and whomever comes in won't save the team either.

Re: Carroll out for the season
Considering the size of the cheer on Saturday, clearly a significant chunk of the fanbase have come to the realisation that Carroll is a worthless knacker and doesn't warrant an expectation of more than 3 goals of contribution this season, if that. He was signed as a third choice striker - the idea ...

Re: Holidays
Estonia? Thinking of a weeks holiday flying into Tallin and a 2 day stay via ferry to Helsinki in mid-August. Isn't that Baltics and not Balkans? Going to Krakow in a couple of months, anyone got any recommendations? Whenever anyone mentions SW Poland I'm always brought to think of this: https://en...

Anyone interested in rationalising this one? I'm not suggesting impropriety but the facts of the circumstance may lead to people jumping to that conclusion

Re: Loan Updates
Woodman sounds like he's more likely to go down the Fraser Forster path. I can't see him taking the no. 1 jersey from Dubravka, even though I wouldn't complain if they trialled him in that position, as I actually don't think Dubravka is anything special compared to other Premier League goalkeepers.

Re: Pointless Transfers...
True, and it was invalidated speculation, but there was more of an expectation than signing a guy and leaving him in the reserves / sent out on loan.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 2:51 pmAnyone referred to as ‘the next...’ whoever is doomed to fail

Point: to get paid more. By a club with better facilities, more resources and likely better staff. He probably knew he had no chance to break through, but he also probably knew he couldn't pass up the very slim chance he could. I remember him arriving with a reputation of being a wonderkid so I don...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2019)
I would actually speculate that he isn't good enough to warrant a Championship club taking on his Premier League level wages, whatever those are.
I imagine this was a fallback deal, hence being signed on the last day.

Only 43k at the Watford match, our smallest PL gate since 2012 (according to NUFC.com)...was there a secret boycott, more stayed away from this than they did the boycotts against Arsenal and Spurs <laugh> I guess additionally it should be considered that this is a less glamorous fixture for a team ...

Re: League Cup: Leicester (h)
I can see Fernandez holding his place for Saturday to give Jamal at three week break to recover. I wouldn't be concerned. I think Clark deputised fine too, always was a steady hand and a corner goal threat. Both should be retained Very good for Muto to get a goal, regardless of how it was scored - w...
