Re: Ashley “close to conceding defeat” re: selling the club

https://twitter.com/craighope_dm/status/1086581291129163778?s=21 Well that was fun while the hope lasted <neg> I suppose it’s naive to think that, now he’s likely staying as owner, he might allow the club to spend some money... Side note: if we are spending money on paying down our debt to him - pe...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2019)

s*** PL football every week and struggling to scrape a 1-0 win or get relegated to the Championship and actually win some games...I’d rather enjoy the football regardless of division. If we stay up this year we know we’ll be in the same fight next year as Ashley isn’t going anywhere. Championship f...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2019)

Transfermarkt actually suggests he's primarily a left back who can also play on the left side of the midfield. Rennes bought him for 7m euros before last season, he made 19 league appearances and then loaned out to Nimes for this season. Well his name suggests he can do everything....and that he’s ...

Diame, Shelvey, Ki all out - Hayden and Longstaff or Ritchie in CM?
This feels like Norwich 2011 all over again.

Re: Netflix Recommendations

Just finished watching this. Martin Bain is David Brent. A personal highlight was Chris Coleman's response to a Sunderland fan calling him a prick " You calling me a prick? I'm a married man with six kids!" <laugh> It certainly puts our current 'predicament' into perspective though. It could so eas...

Re: What was the last "great" or even good goal we scored?

Probably Rondon's header.

Last season had a few: Saivet free kick, and Perez vs Arsenal got a lot of praise.

Re: Match day thread - NUFC v Manure

Imagine signing a goalkeeper to play in the Championship for £5m when you had Karl Darlow and Rob Elliot in your squad. Imagine signing a couple of full backs (Lazaar and Gamez) and selling a young Swiss defender who the majority of fans felt was good enough to stake a claim to play for the first t...

So, Chelsea away next then.
In 4/5 games time we could easily be 5/6 points from safety with a goal difference the same (if not worse) than those around us.

I remember playing Watford around this time of year a few seasons back in a drab 1-0 loss. Therefore I'm predicting same outcome this time around <cheers>

Re: If we're so adamant that supporting the team at home helps them perform, why is our home form so s***?

We set up at home in the same we way do away, stupidly defensively with no outlet. Away from home the home sides tend to attack a bit, so if we can fluke not conceding and nick a late one we might get the odd result. At home visiting sides are utterly baffled by our tactics until they finally reali...
