Re: Championship Playoff final Brentford v Fulham

The last thing we needed was another Sheffield United type club like Brentford coming up, doing well and putting the lower half teams to shame. <ski> Don't particularly mind Fulham. Although from what I've read, they're ownership are still very stubborn; haven't really acknowledged any mistakes sinc...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2020)

The reason they did that was because the Bellingham could have went for minimal compensation (and a bigger signing on fee), but he purposefully chose the route that would get Brum a fee, possibly saving their finances. It was very selfless Not all heroes wear capes... Fair play to him if he did pur...

Re: Toon Takeover Thread

FWIW I’m pretty confident this will still go through but but the constant delays risk completely derailing our season. I just want Ashley gone but I have to say I’m growing more and more concerned that the beauracracy and geopolitics are just a taste of what’s to come and whether this is all really ...

Re: 2019/20 Season Review

Expected a relegation disaster but Bruce exceeded my rather low-bar expectations. I thought the team showed grit in producing those 'lucky' results, but can't constantly rely on grit so overall improvement in performance needed. We seem to play with a bit more freedom than under Benitez, but can't h...

I think they put all their energy into the socks.
Definitely didn’t put any of it into the shorts. Literally the exact same pair 5 seasons in a row now.

Stamp duty holiday: no duty paid up to £500k. My partner and I are looking to move and this should hopefully save us about £6k. <diva>

I think Mourinho will go, Southgate will take over at Spurs and Eddie Howe will get the England job.
Not sure whether they could financially afford to ditch Mourinho right now.

Re: Importance of ASM

Whilst very influential for our results pre lockdown, I’m not sure if his end product during that period would suffice for a top 6 club. Hard to tell if his form since the restart has just been a purple patch.

1 more win for mathematical?
Think we might already be safe due to number of teams on same amount of points and still to play each other?

I’m probably wrong so let’s just say one more win <ok>

Re: Matty Longstaff's contract conundrum

Bit late on the discussion, but I always find the wage increase comparison between players and your average joe a bit ridiculous. Of course your normal worker is going to go for a higher paid job because in most circumstances it will drastically improve your quality of life. If you are earning 20k ...

So it begins. Obviously its fully deserved but this is going to be framed like its the greatest ever title win, Sky Sports already have a conference call full of ex liverpool.
The ‘30 years of hurt’ line is a bit rich for a club who’ve won almost 20 trophies in that time alone.

Re: Toon Takeover Thread

Anybody know much about this US group apparently waiting in the wings? Tbh mega money would be good, but if we had owners who took the approach someone like Wolves have then I wouldn't be unhappy. Yeah they've made some significant investment in wages for the likes of Neves, Patricio and Moutinho, ...

I did some A Level stats coursework on whether home advantage made a difference. It was s***. Could probably have a decent go now.
Or what about how important is a positive goal difference towards avoiding relegation? <roll>

I think the announcement will come soon, but I don't think it will be the one most of our fans want.
Why do you think it’s taking them so long to reject it?
