Re: Match day thread - West Ham v Toon

I suppose our run had to come to an end at some point. Pretty uneventful game despite the two goals. We looked much better in the second half. Never a penalty for their second - although I think that's karma for the Burnley game where they should have been awarded a pen for Ritchie's challenge. The ...

These routine victories are awfully unsettling. Expecting Big Mike to announce he's bulldozing the training ground tomorrow.
...because he's buying into Rafa's project and making a start of renovating the training ground? <divax>

Re: Match thread - Toon v Burnley

Is there a rule I’m missing which says there’ll always be more time added on in the second half than in the first? No goals in the second half, no major stoppages yet 5 minutes added on? Generally they give 30 seconds for every sub, goal and injury and then usually one customary minute. So first ha...

Someone pushing you does make you try that bit harder(or crumble under the pressure) but we have to remember that Darlow is a really bad goalkeeper who is not pushing for a first team place.
He’s brilliant at saving penalties fwiw.

Strange why Dubravka took so long to jump for the catch. His arms only seem to go up after Boly heads the ball...

Dubravka now has 3 mistakes (if we can count that as a mistake - as well as a foul) leading to a goal. Joint highest this season in the Premier League alongside Begovic, Pickford and Leno.
Wow! A whole three mistakes.

Re: Match thread - Wolves v Toon

Should have managed injury time better and not taken the piss with subs taking an age.
Dubravka is a top keeper but should have done better.

4 points from City, Spurs and Wolves. We’re miles better than our position in the league suggests.

The only way Rafa will stay is if he gets concrete assurances about future transfer budgets.
I'm certain he's already made his mind up that he's off at the end of the season. I don't blame him for it.

If this lad does sign, does that mean Rafa stays after the summer? Would MA really give him £20m to spend on one player if he's leaving in a few months time?
No. £20m really isn't that much money in football anymore.

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2019)

I think people forget quite how many players we brought in in Summer, and we even behaved like a real football club for about five minutes when we signed another centre half after Lejeune got injured. How on earth can we do that on one hand, then sign no one at all while in a relegation battle in J...
