Re: Manager of the season
Don't forget that it's a PL award, so cups and Europe don't apply. If Nuno had stayed in 3rd he'd have been nailed on, as it stands for me if he finishes in the CL spots it still should be, him making 5th is a better achievement than Slot, Howe etc. Pardew got it for us finishing 5th, I think Fores...

Heard he's a bit of a rough diamond.overseasTOON wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 12:44 pmWhat about that young Greek Karrat fella?
Seems to be a central midfielder but saw him play on the wings for Greece and he looked very good.

Re: Manager of the season
Realistically, it should be Nuno. However I think previous seasons it's just gone to whoever has won the prem, I imagine it'll be Slot.

Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist
Murphy is going through the best patch of form of his career but we've got to look past that. It's still a priority position to strengthen. You sign someone better than Murphy but if he keeps up this form until the end of the season then it's place to lose. He'll go into next season as first choice...

Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist
We made a similar mistake when Miggy had his purple patch. Murphy is playing great at the moment, but we need another RW to challenge.
One of the main reasons our season is still going great is that when Gordon was suspended/injured we had a quality backup. Need that across the pitch.

Re: Matchday thread - Magpies v Eagles
I'd snap your hand off for 5th right now. It can change so fast in football, lose against Villa with the other games going against us and suddenly it's looking close again. 18 points available and 5 points ahead of 6th. so 13 points to get champions league. Think 6 of them come against Ipswich and C...

Re: Matchday thread - Magpies v Eagles
This game in hand is a must win tonight. Palace are in decent form and on their day, can cause a lot of problems. Hopefully we start fast, score and then keep up the intensity and pressure. I'd begrudgingly accept a draw but really hope for the 3 points as that's what puts us in the driving seat an...

I think stopping Villa winning would be massive. I'd snap your hand off for 4 points now.

Re: New stadium + Club Improvements
I did expect a new training ground would be the first thing to be announced.
However the current one is looking a lot better these days compared to the wheely bin days of Ashley.

Nasty.
Hopefully the players can keep this run going for him until he's back. Two tough games ahead without the manager though.

Re: Howe has been admitted to hospital
Find it odd that the club haven't given a slightly more detailed update on his ' illness ' Leading to lots of speculation It’s very personal so I’m not really surprised. Better to have speculation than sharing news that it’s up to him who knows and when. I hoping the lights go out at St James 5 min...

Chelsea and Forest dropping points have been a nice bonus though. When looking at the table I always just assume every other team will win every game.

Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist
I really hope the Calvert-Lewin rumours aren't true There is no 'transfer board' in the world that would pass that as a good signing. He doesn't even play for Everton now. Wages would be relatively high, totally unreliable, his goal scoring record is actually piss poor other than 2019-20 (13 PL goa...
