Re: Match day thread - NUFC v Cardiff

Cardiff were s**** - but a brilliant and much needed win, just when we needed it.

Schär was amazing and Rondon was great up front, and the whole team was excellent to a man.

Re: Match day thread - NUFC v Cardiff

Playing 3 CBs at home to Cardiff <awe> Hopefully Schar plays further forward... Presumably 3-4-3 tho? Also Schar and Lejeune are probs two of our more creative players! Full team: https://twitter.com/nufc/status/1086624325602439168?s=21 Glad to see Longstaff starting and Roberts on the bench - sham...

Ashley “close to conceding defeat” re: selling the club

https://twitter.com/craighope_dm/status/1086581291129163778?s=21 Well that was fun while the hope lasted <neg> I suppose it’s naive to think that, now he’s likely staying as owner, he might allow the club to spend some money... Side note: if we are spending money on paying down our debt to him - per...

He sticks out to me as he seems to be on the end of more missed chances than others in the team.
The Jos has missed a similar number of chances and has played about 1/5 as much.

Perez is a good squad player IMO, but we obviously need to sign someone for the first team - hence the Almiron links.

Quite enjoyed reading that, the No-Hope Express is an apt term!

It was nice to have a break from the life sapping frustration of the PL.
Also this is great

Re: FA cup replay - Blackburn v NUFC

Apparently most of the starters last night had the runs before kick-off and half the squad was out with a bug. And they still took us to extra time...

Re: 16 games left to average 2.1 points per game

2.1 points per game would give us a finishing total of ~50 points <scratch>

We need 1 point per game to reach 34, more likely 1.25 to get to 38 points. <ok> 5 wins, 5 draws, 6 losses

Match day thread: Chelsea v Newcastle (Sat, 5.30pm)

Newcastle recommence their Premier League fixtures on Saturday when they visit Stamford Bridge for a 5.30pm kick-off shown live on BT Sport. NUFC: Ki Sungyueng and Yoshinori Muto are away on international duty at the Asian Cup but Florian Lejeune could be in contention for his first PL appearance of...

Re: Sky: Peter Kenyon in talks about taking over NUFC

Dear me, as if Ashley isn't bad enough, his only serious competition is someone having a f***ing whip round. To be fair struggle to get investment to purchase the club does not necessarily impact the post-takeover spending power. As the purchase would clear the debt to Mike Ashley, we could reasona...

I'd assume this is just another filler from the Chron https://twitter.com/ed_aarons/status/108...

I won't be able to watch most of our games if we go down. Doesn't matter to locals, but it's not only local that support them.

I'm expecting: Woodman Sterry Lejeune Clark Manquillo Hayden Shelvey Murphy Longstaff Kennedy Joselu Which should be good enough to do the job... https://twitter.com/ChrisDHWaugh/status/1081588834184372224 So cl...

Re: Sky: Peter Kenyon in talks about taking over NUFC

It's not massive progress. It is further evidence of things we already know - that Kenyon is seriously interested , and remains so - which is only a good thing. I understand the cynicism and frustration but people are talking as if this is bad news. It's not gamechanging news, but it's definitely d...

Re: Sky: Peter Kenyon in talks about taking over NUFC

The whole thing smacks of desperation. TJR is spot on, if anyone actually believes this is a development in the eventual sale of the club they need their heads examined. It's not massive progress. It is further evidence of things we already know - that Kenyon is seriously interested, and remains so...

Not a bad team. Is Muto still around? If so might as well get some use out of him before he goes off to the Asia Cup.
I think he went after the Man U game. But I could be wrong.
