Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Citeh

2 goals that were deflections, Willock at fault for both because he wasn't tight enough to his man. It happens. We had some chances. Isak could do no more with his left footed effort. Danny Murphy seems to think he had the whole goal to aim at when the reality was his shot went between 2 defenders. ...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Citeh

That gets at it for me actually. He's being directed to play so narrow, which consistently leaves him having to pick between the ball and the overlapping run, and he's then left in no man's land. If you're going to play 5 at the back the LWB and LCB have to do better, because they won't get the sam...

Re: Gordon in England Squad

Well deserved. Still got plenty of areas to work on in his game but he's had a good season.

Re: Days lost through injury

I’m in a minority, and definitely not turning my nose up at anything that’s not CL. I’d take Europa League, I just don’t rate or value the conference league one bit. It’s essentially the European equivalent to the football league trophy imo. Even if it is the European equivalent of the pizza cup, I...

Re: Days lost through injury

Europa League or Europa Conference would be brilliant. If we move past our injury worries next year, we'll have an embarrassment of riches in some areas. Europe against weaker opposition would be great for making sure Miley, Anderson, Hall, Tino get key minutes to keep developing. Also be tough to k...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Wolves

Lewis Hall is still a teenager. There's no situation, he's just a teenager. He's younger than Alex Murphy, Michael Ndiweni, Amadou Diallo and Joe White who are all seen as kids that have made their debut this season. He's 2 years younger than Tino who is still seen as a young full back. Then why is...

Is he in a weird hinterland where too good for u23s but not ready to start yet? Or just Howe has his favourites
It is this. If he was s*** he'd be playing u23s. He's in the first team, but he's still a teenager. He is still learning and will be for a while yet.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Wolves

I agree Longstaff needs a break, but he's done alot this season. He's played so so much football and is clearly knackered. Earlier on in the season he was making good forward runs on the right, but it's all so patched up now. If he'd had competition /chance to rest I think we'd be seeing better per...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Wolves

The yellow rule this season is a little silly, I don't know why the cut off isn't mid season like normal. The game really is going soft, you get yellows for farting too loud these days. If you want to mess around with the reset point then at least increase the threshold for yellow card offences. Sa...

I'm not a gamer really, but went to the F1 arcade in Birmingham yesterday and it was really decent - full racing sim experience: https://f1arcade.com/ We've got one in central London and been thinking of booking something with miniOT and a few mates or head off to a go kart track for an afternoon t...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Wolves

It gets reset at 32 games, so that's a big ask, particularly when you can pick up a yellow by accident very easily these days. Main thing really was him avoiding the ban when we had no other options. Willock being back and Anderson on his way back means it isn't the disaster it would have been 5 ga...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Gunners

How does his goal record compare? I realise he's very limited, but I don't think it's fair to describe him as an orthodox winger given he plays on the right and doesn't actually possess a right foot. Regardless he absolutely needs to be improved on, and it really is the case that Murphy does that a...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Gunners

Challenge for people. Almiron has 6 assists in 170 PL games. Can you find another winger with a record that bad? To add to this. I initially mentioned this to someone just as a point to highlight how bad he is, then got thinking whether anyone actually is as bad as him. Bobby De Cordova-Reid has 6 ...

What’s Antony’s at Man U per game?
He has 2 assists in 45 games. So if by some miracle he reaches 170 games in the PL, he's currently on track for 7/8 assists at that point.

Caicedo is such a dirty footballer.
He's chaotic. He dives in constantly which means he gives away free kicks quite a lot or is beaten quite a lot. Not worth anywhere near what they paid for him.

Only missed like 5 games through injury since 2018. Don't care how good he is, sign him up.
Before joining us, Harvey Barnes had been injured once in his career.
