Re: Newport County v Newcastle - League Cup 4th Round

I must be mistaking Joelinton for someone else then. Who dummied the pass with nobody anywhere near him so it went out for a goal kick and who attempted the overhead kick?

My stream was poor and I was watching it on my phone so it's a genuine question <laugh>

Re: Newport County v Newcastle - League Cup 4th Round

Most of all I'm pleased for Joelinton. He looks much, much better playing from deep - serious power on the turn - and although I'm sure he's gutted to have missed a penalty it'll be so much easier for the lad that it hasn't cost us. Onto Burnley on Saturday, for me he's got to be one of the first n...

Re: Other club transfers summer 2020

Going to Chelsea was a bad move for Barkley, but still it's a decent signing for Villa. They looked good against Fulham and might surprise a few people this season.

Re: Newport County v Newcastle - League Cup 4th Round

What the **** do they expect him to say?! "We're miles ahead of Newport and we should beat them comfortably tonight. They're absolutely s****." A few of them think exactly that. It was bad enough last week, but to be so thick to do it the week after you've put 7 past the last team he was respectful...

Re: Coronavirus

Got back from Portugal on Monday after cancelled flight to Newcastle, had to go to Leeds, and a bus from there to pick my car up. Arrived home seven hours late. Now we have to quarantine for two weeks because we’ve come from a country with a much lower rate of infection than ours. I was a believer ...

Re: Newport County v Newcastle - League Cup 4th Round

I don't think it will be as easy as Morecambe, but I'm still expecting a win. I don't think it's disrespectful to suggest we should beat Newport, but they're a decent side and they won't make it easy for us.

Re: Newport County v Newcastle - League Cup 4th Round

Newcastle fans on Twitter are mostly w******. Yep. They're the ones that get smashed on the way to matches on 4 cans of Carling, get into the stands and act hard trying to pick fights with opposition fans safe in the knowledge that they can't get over to them (and if they did meet outside for a fig...

Re: Holidays

I wouldn't bother with a private jet if I was mega-rich (they seem to crash more often than commercial airlines), I'd just fly first class commercial. I've said the same before. I wouldn't bother with yachts or private jets. I'd be tempted to charter a yacht every now and again, but I'd be quite ha...

Re: Holidays

I think even if I did have a few million in the bank, I'd struggle to chuck that sort of money on flights, especially when you consider the seats that cost a tenth of that price are also ridiculous <laugh>. We flew with British Airways. It was alright, but I was still very uncomfortable within a co...

Re: Holidays

We flew 'Premium Economy' to New York and even that was eye-watering <laugh>. I think we got an extra couple of inches of legroom. At 6' 3" it made little difference. The Residence can cost anywhere up to £40,000 per person I believe. <yikes> <yikes> I went Virgin Atlantic Premium Economy once, mus...

Re: VAR and the latest handball rules

91 penalties were awarded last season and we've had 20 so far. The highest total in one PL season is 106 (which has happened twice) and we're on course for 271ish if my maths are correct (20 pens awarded in 28 fixtures so far = 0.714 penalties per match, multiplied by 380 matches = 271.42) This is o...

Re: Holidays

Ended up down a YouTube hole last night and got onto videos about The Residence seats on Etihad flights <awe>. You get two massive seats in your own private lounge then a little corridor with a toilet and separate shower off to either side that leads to your bedroom. That's the way to do long haul i...
