Re: The ToonForum Whisky Club

I don't think I've had 60 bottles of whisky in my life. I've currently got a small amount of Bulleit, some Laphroaig Quarter Cask and about 1/3 a bottle of Remy Martin 1738 - not whisky I know, but it's f***ing beautiful.

Re: IFAB Set to Continue with 5 Subs Rule for 2020/21 Season

I'll probably back track on this when we're losing 1-0 but absolutely battering the team we're playing and they decide to use all 5 subs separately after 90 minutes.

Re: What's the verdict on VAR?

FIFA has taken over supervising VAR use now, and they want to make it consistent across the world - so hopefully no more malicious compliance from the Premier League. If they don't sort it out, Collina is waiting... https://i.imgur.com/chig39N.png https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-soccer-var-collin...

Re: IFAB Set to Continue with 5 Subs Rule for 2020/21 Season

My argument in favour of it is that Liverpool have absolutely pissed the league this season, and for the most part they were only allowed three subs. Giving them another couple of subs isn't going to drastically change the outcome for them. If we're playing Liverpool and we can both make 3 subs, the...

Re: Match day - Man City v Newcastle United

I'm not really bothered by the result. I expect, with the squad they have, for them to absolutely batter us from start to finish. The lack of passing ability was evident again though and that is frustrating. Against Bournemouth our passing was fantastic, but they struggled with even the simplest of...

Re: IFAB Set to Continue with 5 Subs Rule for 2020/21 Season

i think it gives the big teams with good depth a bigger advantage, so no There are definitely some negatives for it, but I think we've benefitted from it so far. The way I see it is that we play more of our games against the smaller clubs than we do against the bigger clubs. We didn't lose 5-0 last...

Meh.
I came on here to post exactly the same comment <laugh>. The combined transfer fees of their bench alone tonight isn't far off double the combined transfer fees of our entire 20-man squad. We can't compete with that.

Norwich as good as down. That 3-2 win against City seems a lifetime ago now.
So does everyone getting excited about Pukki. He's scored 11 goals this season which isn't bad at all, but 6 of them were scored by the 14th September.

IFAB Set to Continue with 5 Subs Rule for 2020/21 Season

https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk ... e-18561294

IFAB are set to carry the rule allowing 5 substitutes into the 2020/21 season giving the PL the option to use this again next season.

I think it's a good idea! <notbad>

Thoughts?

Re: Match day - Man City v Newcastle United

We better not set up to defend again <grin> Against City? I think ultra defensive is probably the best tactic going and then reassess if it looks like they're having an off day. We were unbelievably s**** against them in the FA Cup, but we only lost 2-0. If we try and attack them and they're having...

Re: WEEKEND FOOTBALL - 4/6 JULY 2020

I think Mourinho will go, Southgate will take over at Spurs and Eddie Howe will get the England job. I’d love to see Southgate at Spurs, he’ll be awful. Howe is too tactically naive for the England job I think. Done great to keep Bournemouth up all these years but even before this season they’re so...
