Re: Bruce leaves the club by 'mutual consent'

I feel bad for him in the sense that it has been a horrible job for him from pretty much day one. He has suffered lots of unnecessary abuse and his family have probably been through hell with it too. He absolutely deserves credit for the 12th and 13th place seasons, but overall the game has moved on...

Re: Bruce leaves the club by 'mutual consent'

And so it begins. Wonder if we will get a new manager in today? Sounds like they will be in place for Palace, at least. Graeme Jones will lead the team on an interim basis, starting with Saturday's trip to Crystal Palace, and will be supported by the coaching team of Steve Agnew, Stephen Clemence, ...

Re: Premier League clubs vote to block sponsorship deals linked to owners

I get the concerns around pumping millions into buying new players as that is something that has never sat right with me. However, if owners want to update the stadium and facilities through whatever deals they want then they should absolutely be allowed to. Better training facilities will obviously...

Premier League clubs vote to block sponsorship deals linked to owners

Interesting story from the BBC this morning: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58920229 Premier League clubs have voted to temporarily block teams agreeing lucrative sponsorship deals linked to a club's owners after the Saudi Arabia-backed £305m takeover of Newcastle. Eighteen clubs voted in favo...

Re: New Manager

🤣 Now I wake to see Wayne Rooney is joining a short list , Eddie Howe is in talks with the consortium and Uni Emery is strongly fancied albeit with a 7m euro release clause. 🤣 Edit to add ….I nearly put my car off the road yesterday when I heard Danny Murphy say best option would be Roy Hodgson. ht...

Re: The Everton Question?

It's been from long before that. When Sunderland were in the Prem their fans seemed to bond over being the fans of the club overshadowed by their neighbours. They see us and Liverpool fans as being overly emotional and getting favourable treatment from the outside world despite them being more dese...

Re: The reality is Newcastle are in a relegation battle. They need a new head coach [The Athletic]

there was perhaps a stark realisation that, despite spending £240 million to acquire 80 per cent of the club, perhaps tens of millions more are needed just to ensure Newcastle retain their top-flight status. To actually challenge for the Premier League title, as is the stated aim within half a deca...

That was such a great season for sullen Brucey moments. Every week MOTD of the day would have a side profile of a forlorn looking Bruce before switching focus to the angry fans in the background.

Re: New Manager

The problem is that I think the players have been up for it a couple of times, they haven't completely downed tools. The issue is a complete lack of tactics and organisation, and that's not going to change. Spurs may look flaky at the moment, but I still reckon they've got far too much for us. Far,...

Re: Minority of not, some of our fans are embarrassing right now

I do agree with the notion that Newcastle fans are an easy target, and most other high profile clubs would be the same. The club has a large media draw and the fans are very much a part of that. You won't get journalists questioning the PM or the CEO of BAE Systems about their ties with Saudi Arabia...

Re: Minority of not, some of our fans are embarrassing right now

A massive chunk of our fans are utter f***ing d***s. I'm sure the same can be said for most clubs of course. They are doing exactly what is expected - sticking up for the Saudi regime and slating anyone that criticises it. A lot of what is described as "banter" is just awful.

Sky News just reported that Rodgers has confirmed that he has no interest in talking to Newcastle as he is perfectly happy at Leicester.
I can't see any manager walking away from a good job like his.

Re: New Manager

I'm in no rush for Bruce to go, let's face it there is plenty of games left, it would be stupid to rush in a replacement then have to potentially replace them in a few months time, I'd rather we get it right first time. I'm happy if we focus on a DoF/Chief Exec for now, we need to get that upper of...
