Re: Watford valued same as Newcastle!

As we have seen, a strong home fanbase is financially worthless - just change your club to playing in red and watch the money roll in from the far east. The billion dollar difference comes from a club that has international interest to one that has none. This club currently has 0 reputation outside...

Meh, I'm 35 and got excited about Carroll, he really was an exciting player and had he stayed on and injury free I think his goal record could be pretty special by now. I also had Cabaye's name on my shirt after just that Darlo friendly, so we've all done it...

Re: Watford valued same as Newcastle!

But we're talking about the difference of over a billion dollars with the valuations of other PL clubs. Plus, a more affordable squad also means less guaranteed costs on the books. The squad is a temporary asset; league status, stadium, training facilities, existing fanbase, etc. is longer-term and...

Re: Watford valued same as Newcastle!

Tbf I've always thought what Ashley is wanting for the club is more than fair. Not sure why everyone kicks off when he says he wants £400m. Agreed. It's a fraction of what other PL clubs have been sold for lately, and most of the value should be in the opportunity and access to PL revenues. And jus...

Summerslam this weekend for the Reigns coronation but there's supposed to be a big heel turn from either him or Ambrose.
And there was neither. Just more of the same s***.

Re: Your NUFC team v Chelsea

Chelsea are great going fwd and will deffo score. If Rafa thinks he can close up he is mad. They have weakness at the back - particularly Luiz. We need Rondon on the pitch to pressure them - and Id like to see both Muto and Perez there as they will hassle. Please no Joselu Couldn't agree more but y...

Clement is almost as big a fraud as McClaren. How he keeps getting jobs is beyond me.

He's seemingly spent more time arguing with Darren Bint on twitter than he setting up his side to win a football game.
Fixed it

Re: Reading FC woes...

It sounds like Clement will get dumped sooner rather than later. Are the players buying into his style?

A team like Reading has no business losing to Bolton right now.

Re: Your NUFC team v Chelsea

Fully expecting the same line-up as v Cardiff other than Yedlin at RB, and Atsu/Murphy in place of Kenedy. Joselu will start. Unfortunately, this. Rafa seems to like consistency. I doubt Muto is ready for 90 mins of Premier League football, and doesn't seem to be entirely happy that Rondon is settl...

No further action to be taken against Kenedy
Although inelligible, if he had played like he did on Saturday that's not a blessing, it's a curse. Let's hope he atones next time.

Re: Your NUFC team v Chelsea

Really wish it was Manchester United next week. Chelsea looked sharp offensively against Arsenal, and I doubt Joselu is about to trouble their average defence.

Re: Federico Fernandez 6m Done Deal

He was never going to be a shouty captain though, he led by example and for at least three seasons in an ever changing squad did that admirably. The idea he couldn't organise a defense is farcical though, as the stats and anyone who heard him whistle his way through a game can account. I miss that ...

Supposedly did a good job at Brentford and Cheltenham from what I hear - life in the FL outside the PL is even more uncertain and just fluctuates like crazy.

Re: Other Clubs Transfers Summer 2018/19

Good idea, not meaning this in any sort of derogatory way but it's a bit like an X-Factor type thing. You get the opportunity to show what you can do and hope someone takes a chance on you. I'm not sure why the PFA say that this isn't feasible in England. There's more than enough money swirling abo...

Re: Federico Fernandez 6m Done Deal

Didn't visibly improve the team? What revisionist history. It's no coincidence the team always did worse when he was out injured. And I guess I just imagined that 5th place season - which at this rate, was the best result in ages, and likely will remain that way for years to come. More than half of...

Re: Match day - NUFC v Spurs

the 22 year old that couldnt get a game for crewe alexandria in league 2? sounds pretty risky to me There's often a reason players like him have yet to get the opportunity to prove they're good enough for this level. I hate to be the one who says it, but Dummett was in a very similar situation at 2...

Re: Squad numbers 2018/19 confirmed

I'm pretty surprised one of Elliot or Darlow hasn't left. I mean, I'm sure we don't want to keep Woodman around as third choice when he could instead be playing every day elsewhere, but I'd have though Karl or Rob would want a chance to play. Elliot is 32 - would have gladly let him go and I'm sure...

Re: Kit Thread 18/19

What be the fitting on the jerseys? Are they similar to last year where the size was more the length of the jersey rather than the actual width I'm a portly gent at the best of times (36" waist, 16.5-17" collar) and my shirt is extra large and still feels like it was designed for a child. I sympath...
