Re: NUFC close to breaking point. Rafa rightly lays into club.

I feel like there's a lot of people here trying very hard to justify the position the club finds itself in - fine, but the situation can be put simply. The long and short of it is that the manager is unhappy (again) that the squad and the investment isn't there in the state that he wanted (again), a...

Re: Holidays

Anyone ever been to Kenya? Went about 7 years ago. Went to a few safari destinations then Tanzania. Didn't do any of the beaches though. I'm heading for safari and the beach, will let you know how it goes. I'm actually going to be the first in my family (my father was born there) to go to the count...

Re: The Official WWE Thread

Did anyone see ITV's relaunched World of Sport? New series started on Saturday, but looks like WWE have tied up a lot of the best UK talent now to keep WOS down. I check in with WWE for the major PPVs or if I hear about something good happening. Been to a few Progress shows (highly recommend), catc...

Re: NUFC close to breaking point. Rafa rightly lays into club.

We're nowhere near where the club needs to be, in terms of quality and depth. I would say that the squad at the start of last season looked more solid in terms of depth (2 players for every position). Right now, I don't see those transfers happening, which the optimistic here are saying (Rondon, at ...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2018)

I think the issue in all of this, as proven by the idea of using Gayle as a makeweight, is NUFC refusing to spend £16m on a player.

We'll probably lose 4 of our first 5 then we can worry.
I'm looking at 6 of those first 8 games and thinking anything gained would be a bonus.

Re: NUFC close to breaking point. Rafa rightly lays into club.

People rubbish the fans letter and then Rafa gives an interview like this - the writing is on the wall as far as I am concerned. We also hear that today, Rondon and Hegazi's release fees elapse from their contracts. Because the expiry of release fees for relegated players are a big cause for concern...

I agree with the letter. I also think it is worth trying anything at this stage.

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2018)

Didn't get a chance. Standard. This. Can’t speak for his attitude on the training ground but he never looked that bad in the odd glimpses he got under both McClaren and Rafa. It's a little unfair to judge him on this, but I believe he started a few games under McClaren in that period between signin...

Re: Spain manager sacked

'Manufactured controversy' sums a lot of things up nicely at the moment. The amount of new twitter accounts springing up and jumping on the bandwagon of moaning Newcastle fans is ridiculous. Someone at NUFC could through an apple core in the bin rather than composting it and there would be outrage....

Re: Yoshinori Muto Transfer Thread- (awaiting work permit)

How long will this take? I might have imagined this entirely but I think I saw somewhere the work permit hearing is on Thursday. It's usually at least a week, but judging by the number of caps that the lad has and the fact he was in the WC squad, the likelihood of this being denied is very low. I b...

Longstaff to stay?

It seems Longstaff's proposed loan to Pompey is going to be abandoned, presumably due to the NUFC Central Midfield shortage.

I've never seen the lad play but I am all for giving him a first team chance. Someone from that damned Academy surely has to be good enough?

Re: Spain manager sacked

I think it is the rumour that the club wrote a letter to the Spanish FA and offered them Benitez that people are crying about. Still ****. Who writes letters in 2018! Why on earth would they do that? It seemingly takes them months to make contact with clubs for players, I hardly think they'd initia...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2018)

If Lascelles does replace a man u bound Maguire, would it be worth looking at someone like Smalling or Rojo? Wages might be a sticking point but wouldn't be bad additions. Leicester is a sideways at best step. They're not getting CL football, and they're probably not getting Europa League either. N...

Re: Guardian: “Club forums are a haven for football fans in an ever angrier online world”

There's most certainly a difference between joining a forum to discuss a club and changes and sending an angry tweet so your friends can read how you annoyed you are with Mike Ashley again, for the 5th time this summer.

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2018)

Taken from the BBC gossip column via the Sun and picked up by The Chronicle of course - probably crap but, if true, would Ashley be able to resist £35m? "Leicester City are lining up a £35m move for Newcastle's 24-year-old centre-back Jamaal Lascelles, which could pave the way for Harry Maguire to ...
