Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Chelsea

Also- if Southgate doesn't start Palmer in next England team- I'd say he's clueless & has to move on . The kid is class and looks better every week Ahead of who though? While Southgate's selections absolutely need to be scrutinised if you look at vaguely similar positions I wouldn't put him ahead o...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Chelsea

Lovely little assist too, Bruno's been making some weird decisions so far but he saw that so well.

Re: 23/24 NUFC Kits Thread

Anyone else received anything yet? I'm at two weeks post order with nothing, even with their "7-10 days for personalised shirts" it's late.

Re: Weekend football - 9/11 March 2024

What does Kai Havertz have to do to get sent off? Got away with murder on Longstaff, and yesterday was ludicrous.

Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist

To he honest if Dummett is going as rumoured it doesn't hurt to have a cheap experienced head in the squad, even if just to get more hilarious timewasting bookings when not on the pitch.

Re: The Match Tickets Thread

This won't help of course. Yet in the resale if I've been kicked out of the clubs' website because they think I'm a robot! <grr> Reckon you'd have a better chance if you were a robot. Good luck to both of you. I'm about to feel the joy of resale attempts for Euros tickets next week after failing mi...

I had them in an acca, delightful late turnaround. Thought it was dead when they missed the penalty.

Days is definitely a better measure, you could in theory have 50 two day injuries and no one misses a game...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Wolves

It's fine to debate, but when it's full of so much conjecture and assumption I don't think we're really taking it anywhere. Maybe we've just made a rare error in our transfer dealings? Also, snood. Maybe I was being vague or should have phrased it better. Another example of someone writing down my ...

Re: Days lost through injury

Yeah, this "avoid Europe" thing is daft. Qualify for EL or ECL and you play a cup side in them anyway until the latter stages, with a bit of reinforcement and a little more luck with injuries/wacky bans for something we've more than enough to manage it.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Wolves

I still think there's something to how many games he has to play before a permanent move is obligatory, but we won't realistically find out until summer. I don't really see how we're owed an explanation either, should we suddenly really need him it doesn't go well if Howe's already come out and said...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Wolves

It would help if we had the bodies to give Longstaff a rest, with no Joelinton that removes a lot of physicality from our midfield. While he's not flashy Longstaff is generally good at keeping the middle of the park ticking. We can improve on him of course, but he does a job. On Burn he was far bett...

Re: Other Clubs Transfers/Rumours/Wishlist

Sean's on record as basically saying Bruce completely stunted his development, it's hardly a stretch to suggest that applies to other players.

Re: Other Clubs Transfers/Rumours/Wishlist

Yeah he's been training and rehabbing with the club throughout his free agency, I don't think he's gone on bad terms. I think he'll do a job at Toronto, he looked a really promising player but had it curtailed through a combination of bad loans and Steve Bruce.
