Re: Weekend football - 2/4 March 2024

Probably more an indication of how big the gulf in quality has become between top and bottom of league since 2008. Also this Sheffield side would be mid table championship at best. I think it’s a bit of a myth that there’s heaps of quality in the championship, you’d don’t need to be particularly am...

Have we got a Maguire on our hands - a vital investigation

I have decided to become a serious investigative journalist. It is an accepted fact (the Twitter video is gone) that Harry Maguire in possession is like a man running whilst holding a towel. Since this was noticed, Harry's form nosedived and his confidence is shot. He clearly can't shift the percept...

And I'm happy with Tino. I didn't expect Trippier to be fit as much as he had given his age. And Tino clearly has it

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Wolves

I agree Longstaff needs a break, but he's done alot this season. He's played so so much football and is clearly knackered. Earlier on in the season he was making good forward runs on the right, but it's all so patched up now. If he'd had competition /chance to rest I think we'd be seeing better per...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Wolves

Good result, still leaving a lot to be desired like so need to keep kicking on, still short of what we are capable of. Willock is a massive difference, I know I'm beating a dead horse here but really need to get away from Longstaff and Burn being the first names on the team sheet, I really don't se...

Not a fan of the new version of Local Hero mind
They've replaced it? Why?

When I was a season ticket holder decades ago they replaced Blaydon Races with a new version by an indie band. Risible

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Cherries

I agree with TJR and Sanchino's points. I feel you can build a good side with limited players like Longstaff, but it is fragile. Take out one or two pieces and it falls apart. Same with Burn

Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist

I don't think Isak injury is too bad, Wilson hopefully back soon too. Gordon can cover for a bit. Unless there's a longer term injury to Isak I think we'll make do. Midfield is of course a worry This is the house of cards again though. We can just about put a side out with Gordon, Murphy and Almiro...
