Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Leicester City
Transfer market is frequently spot on too, but it only gets updated periodically so it lags behind performances. Quick Google says his value was last updated on November 3rd and increased €4m from when it was updated 6 weeks prior, so you’d expect his value to be around the €40m mark now.

Re: Matchday thread - Manchester United v Toon
That Ronaldo incident was one of the most embarrassing things I’ve seen in awhile in football. Fair enough to Ronaldo for doing it, probably worth a try. However, the swamping of the referee by NINE players afterwards as if he was denying a clear, fair and wonderful goal (that every neutral thought ...

Re: Re-naming of St James' Park
I was randomly thinking about this the other day and I had a thought; could they buy the naming rights for abroad only? I imagine most local fans don’t care if SJP was called Aramco Stadium when talked about abroad (if the money was right), since it would almost never be noted here. Obviously intern...

Re: Eddie Howe
Always liked him since he was at Bournemouth and thought he was a great manager. Found it a bit odd when people (not necessarily Newcastle fans) were turning their nose up at him when we got him in. Seemed like a very solid decision for the interim period between survival and aiming for Champions Le...

I’m excited about him now! He’ll probably have a ballon d’or by the end of next year given the Merse’s knowledgeoriginallad wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 1:08 pmOh no. Merson says we're making a mistake.

Re: Do footballers earn too much?
I never quite understand the hating on footballers’ wages. They operate in arguably the most competitive industry in the world; almost every young boy in the world has a go playing football and, if they show skill, will be guided towards pursuing it. It’s also a scalable industry, where people in ev...

Re: Wor flags
I mute everything remotely Newcastle related on Twitter and it still filters through, I find football Twitter utterly horrific. I actually could have had a flag on Friday, but my laziness won out and I handed it over... I find football Twitter the only Twitter that is even slightly bareable <laugh>

On a side note, Wor Flags are 100% a class above any other English team in what they do and long may they continue!

Re: Wor flags
Personally I feel the reaction has been a bit OTT on Twitter. 1. It’s not exactly *blatantly* clear that you’re supposed to leave them 2. You’re always gonna get some overly drunk/excited/selfish people who will take them knowing they’re not supposed to 3. They’re not exactly diamond-encrusted so it...

Re: Match Thread: Everton v Newcastle
The way he's playing he doesn't deserve to start, been very poor in his last 3-4 games now. If he's going to stay with us we desperately need someone who to compete with him as he plays like he's undroppable. I do agree and I've been critical of him on here for a little while, but I still think he ...

Re: Match Thread: Everton v Newcastle
Dire game of football. They’re a dreadful team and their scrappiness did us over second half. Hard for any team to score in those sort of games without a bit of luck/a mistake. They got that mistake with Burn stepping up and made the most of it. They won’t win many more games this season playing lik...

Re: The Eddie Howe Newcastle pile on
Problem is it's not being allowed to be compartmentalised, everything is being forcibly dragged into football discussion. Prime example is the reason for this thread, Eddie Howe walks off to the touchline for a post game interview and you have some berk asking questions that have nothing to do with...

Re: The Eddie Howe Newcastle pile on
There’s such cognitive dissonance when people are flipping their moral compass to defend SA’s backwards justice system just because there’s a link to NUFC. If you’ve compartmentalised the ownership from NUFC then it shouldn’t bother you; the ownership not being the essence of NUFC was the argument m...

Re: Chelski Vs NUFC
Do we need to test officials to see if they are fit and proper to operate VAR. Absolute joke of a non decision Use it have the bottle to call it, otherwise what is the bastarin point ?? I don't know how they operate VAR but they should have three officials that review incidents and submit a respons...

I think us and Burnley both have some good momentum now. Both sets of fans feel positive. Must be worried as an Everton fan with their form, toxic atmosphere and run-in

Re: The Everton Question?
Considering how much Everton fans seemed to hate Newcastle without any apparent reason to do so, they must really hate the club now. I think its when we did the double on them last season and the 2 stoppage time goals season prior that made them furious It's been from long before that. When Sunderl...
