Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Wolves

I still think there's something to how many games he has to play before a permanent move is obligatory, but we won't realistically find out until summer. I don't really see how we're owed an explanation either, should we suddenly really need him it doesn't go well if Howe's already come out and sai...

Re: Days lost through injury

Fully agree with both, I don't get this idea of thumbing our nose at anything that's not champions league. We aren't there yet. The squad as a whole will massively benefit from further European experience. We've struggled massively this season (obviously the tough draws have an effect) due to having...

Late winner for Villa it seems. They definitely deserve CL football.
They did give away a two nil lead before the winner, mind

Could do with another west ham goal ideally
goal against west ham you mean?
or do you just hate everton? <laugh>

The latter <laugh> I realise west ham are on our necks, but if we focus on our games we should pull clear. Less points for Everton the better.

Re: Days lost through injury

Probably to artificially augment Man U's position. If done in days lost then Brentford would be second, with Chelsea and Sheffield United making up the top five

Offered to buy MiniOT a kit and she thought she was being punished.

MrsOT has ruined her

Mind, she does like F1 (massive crush on Lando) which gives me something sporting to do with her so all good!
Calrissian? I don't follow F1 if that's not clear haha <laugh>

So it seems we just have to get out there, **** about a bit, have a go and see how that goes vs Man City.

Pretty sure Howe will be more convincing.
Didn't Bruce say something similar when Willock starting his goal scoring run of form his loan season?

Was a slog but I quite enjoyed that. Should've done better but we started to shine more later in the game. Need work out how to finish though. Is Isak still carrying a knock?

Little disappointed with that to be honest, back to the favourites. Hey ho, still looking forward to the game. Bench looking stronger, also.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Gunners

Bowen would be a dream, but agreed he's almost certainly going to Liverpool. Onana definitely fits the profile of a DM, and can take advantage of a shaky situation at Everton. Albeit him having a lot of suitors. Ederson from Atalanta is another we've been fairly regular linked with. Robinson and Hen...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Blackburn Rovers

I have made it to Blackburn (or at least a KFC just outside), so it's another silly early arrival for me... What you having? I'm quite looking forward to tonight, because of work I've missed the last few games we've played so be good to at least watch us. Won't be an easy game but we should have en...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Gunners

Is a strong team that but no way is Meslier going to swap being the starting goalkeeper for a team (likely) to be in the prem next season, to at best be competing with Pope for the berth next season. I think Karius has shown enough that he's an adequate backup, would like to see him keep his place a...

Re: Dan Ashworth confirmed as gardening director

Sad to see him go, but I don't blame him. When I changed jobs I didn't notify my previous employer until I had the offer agreed and signed, then gave my notice period. In terms of effective change - there's a lot of room for improvement and investment at Man Utd. They'll be offering a significant s...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Cherries

As a manager looking to take us forward he needs to show adaptability and show less of a one dimensional style. So far he's failed at every turn through the injuries and fixture congestion. It's a great system for us if we can keep the same 11 players at 100% form and fitness for 50+ games per seas...

Porro, Udogie and Zinchenko all injured, Gomez a massive rotation risk, and Howe refuses to start Tino - my FPL backline is in disarray this weekend <laugh>

Howe actually starting Tino v Bournemouth would do me a HUGE favour.
Probably do our goal difference a favour as well <laugh>

Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist

Surely this puts is behind more than losing any player at this time? Been here short of two years and only just building the network up, but such an integral member of the team to lose. Not to mention the information he may have that could aid a potential positional rival.

This is the thing though, and I have said similar in the big under pressure thread, who do you bring in? Eddie Howe is inexperienced at that next level, as are we - and we aren't there yet. We have the potential, and I think so does Howe, growing with the team. We are clearly ahead of schedule and t...
