Re: Newcastle United appoint Paul Mitchell as sporting director
Seems like a good appointment. Better track record on the recruitment side of things than Ashworth so could be an upgrade.

Re: Euro 2024 chat
Southgate and England are a disgrace. So much talent and time and time again we set up like that. Serbia the other week, played well then scored and then dropped stupidly deep, stopped trying to play, invited pressure and almost conceded. Today agaist Denmark, same thing but conceded. Last Euros in ...

Re: Man City Taking Legal Action Against the PL
TrueFaith did a good pod on it this week. It is mental that clubs in hundreds of millions of debt can spend spend spend (Man U, Liverpool etc) whilst debt free clubs have their wings clipped and even after a good season have to sell to comply with the rules (us, Villa). I know thats unrelated to th...

Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist
Not sure why the uproar when it comes to Trafford. Replacing Pope this season didn't make sense imo, so was always going to be a backup keeper. Buying U21 winning keeper, in and around the England squad and happy to sit on the bench to replace crisp packet wrists Dubravka sounds great. The guy from...

Supposedly Wilson has travelled to London with the squad but Gordon hasn't.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Man U
I think if we do scrape Europe next season then it's pretty much undeserved in all honestly. We have been nothing short of shambolic in parts this season, we have just got away from it because of the odd decent performance here and there. Defensively we have been abysmal, for all the talk of how we...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Man U
Massive changes are needed. If we've got ambitions to challenge at the top of the table and be Champions League regulars then a massive clear out is needed. Likes of Dubravka, Gillespie, Karius, Dummett, Lascelles Krafth, Targett, Longstaff, Ritchie, Murphy and Almiron aren't good enough. Trippier i...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Man U
Awful again from Trippier. He's been a great play but cost us far too many times this season. We were better off when he's injured. Time for him to retire, he's gone now.
Blatant penalty mind, unbelievable that it wasn't given. If that was at the other end it definitely would have.

Two clever signings. Good players, especially Tosin. Improve the defence and allow us to focus the budget elsewhere, RW hopefully.lassassinblanc wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2024 1:35 pmGetting close to a HERE WE GO

Re: Weekend Football (Matchweek 37)
Got to love the post Sir Fergie man u's ability to ruin good footballers. Casemiro was almost the Rodri a few years back. World class holding midfielder anyway. He is knocking on a bit now, so a bit of the Man U effect and a bit of natural aging I think. Yeah agreed. Think that's the reason Real Ma...

Everton £19.5m over limit - deducted 10 points (reduced to 6 on appeal) Forest £34.5m over limit - deducted 4 points (awaiting appeal) Everton £16.5m over limit - deducted 2 points (awaiting appeal) Should be a consistent penalty based on level of breach. Something like 10 points for anything up to ...

Re: Football Titbits
Comical how low the point deductions are. We might as well just breach ffp as the benefits far outweigh the punishment.

Re: The Match Tickets Thread
I would have bought it from you but as I wasn't lucky in the ballot the missus booked a holiday and I now find myself in Mallorca on the day of the game. Just out of interest is it possible to transfer tickets between members with linked accounts? I thought only season ticket holders could transfer...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Cherries
The problem with the Burn selection is he's the only LB option that allows us to play Trippier in a more advanced role. In possession we set up with 3 players back, Schar, Botman and Burn playing as a back 3 with Trippier essentially a winger. Livramento isn't disciplined enough to play the Burn rol...

Re: Other Clubs Transfers/Rumours/Wishlist
Won't they just end up breaching it again next year though and get another points deduction like what's going to happen with Everton?
Surely they got to do something about it at some point u less they want to be 10 points down every season.

Re: The Match Tickets Thread
What did Man Utd fall to, just the ST ballot? It's possible, but then you'll have unlimited members going for 500 remaining tickets so good luck with that... Needless to say I missed out on the Forest ballot, but setting off to Villa shortly. Arsenal's dropping from 15 points later but not doing th...

Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist
If we got a decent offer for Trippier I'd be tempted. He's been a fantastic player for us but he's 34 and has started showing signs of decline. I'd imagine he'd be one of the higher wage earners at the club so it would aid the FFP concerns. With the great progress Tino has shown we already have a mo...
