Re: Yankuba Minteh
Scored twice and got an assist against Ajax today <notbad> Hugely impressive season…does he get a chance here next season or loaned out? What’s his actual position? If he plays off the right then there’s definitely a route into the first team for him next season. On the left no, as Gordon and Barne...

Shame, wasn’t that old really - similar age to my stepdad.
Obviously terrible for us, but not his fault he was given the job.

Re: Weekend football - 6/7 April 2024
Outside the top 3, the PL really isn’t particularly good this season. The fact that we’re only 2 points from 6th place after everything this season is pretty laughable! I mean good for us, but shows an absolute lack of quality.

Tbh I’m more happy that dropping 2 points hinders Liverpool’s title chances.UlversToon wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2024 4:14 pm2-2 - that was a strange feeling as I don't think I've ever cheered a Livarpool goal before!

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Cottagers
Pleasing ! Take it and roll in Seven points out of nine is an acceptable return from these three fixtures. For a squad that is right under the pump it’s credit to all involved in keeping us ticking over I’d say that’s an excellent return tbf. If I was offered that before the West Ham game I’d have ...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Cottagers
I just saw the FT score so can pretend we dominated and deserved to win…
Seriously tho, this team can easily be challenging for top 5 if most (not even all) of our injuries aren’t as bad next year!

Re: Champagne
Happy 40th! I’ll be joining you next year.
Not bothered in the slightest by champagne tbh. Obviously mainly had it at weddings where it’ll be cheap s***, so would be interesting to compare it to something “good”.

Blind pundits fapped over them when they beat us even tho we were absolute ****
Punditry across the board is so reactionary. One win (however it comes) and they’re like “much improved, turned a corner” blah blah.

Re: The Match Tickets Thread
For anyone travelling to games, I stayed at the Hotel Balmoral on Tuesday night and it was only £59 + free parking. 15 minute walk to the stadium (pretty much straight), rooms were spotlessly clean, big bed - no complaints at all. There's a curry house attached to it, didn't eat there but seemed pr...

Re: Midweek football - 2/4 April 2024
The best part for me was that the ref was actually shown far back enough to make a sensible decision, rather than badly selected frames. You wonder why referees rarely seem to ask for the replay to be rewound further back rather than the replay shown to them which invariably begins a microsecond be...

Re: Midweek football - 2/4 April 2024
Referee was sent to the monitor in the Brighton game and DID NOT overturn his initial decision on a penalty! Only the second time that has happened - hopefully see more of this. Just because VaR say to the ref they think he’s made a mistake, some things will (and have been) subjective so it doesn’t ...

Re: Days lost through injury
Apparently Hall just had tiredness / cramp so should be ok for Saturday you’d think with 3-4 days to rest. Probably won’t last the entire match but at least if we can get him for an hour or so it’s a bit better. Don’t think anyone else is expected back

Re: Days lost through injury
I think Sanchino's point was also with consideration to the CB injuries, and given 2 being out with ACLs, Burn should be playing there instead of LB ahead of those other options. Not that I want to speak for him, but at least from my perspective I wouldn't necessarily always select all of them ahea...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Toffees
Yes, I think that all things considered, if we finish 8th along with 2 cups quarter finals it hasn’t been a bad season. If this team on its arse for 80% of the season with an entire first XI missing most of the time can do this, then if/when we sort the injuries next season we should comfortably be ...
