Re: Pavel's eBar

No worries, i'm not criticising, I've just never really understood it. But then living on a small island with nowhere really to drive to and a top speed limit of 35mph there isn't really much call for pleasure driving where I am, so I guess that may be part of it. Doesn't stop loads of people here ...

Re: Pavel's eBar

So I’m splitting with the wife after 16 years together. Been together since we were 17/18 so going to be hard finding our way on our own but a lot has happened. There’s fault on both sides, just in a bit of a daze at the moment - will take a bit of time to sink in. Really sorry to hear about that, ...

Re: Ashley Agrees to Sell Newcastle for £350m!

No, it's not different than being called Brits, but I wasn't trying to compare it to a situation like that, but instead thinking ahead to how annoying it'd be if a year from now instead of referring to the owner(s) by name like we do with Ashley, people instead were just always saying The Arabs, an...

Re: Pavel's eBar

Oh, I'm not saying leave it as a shell, but there must be other restoration options that aren't quite as expensive. I also read something that the current wooden structure in the roof is only about 160 years old or so as it had to be rebuilt after the French revolution, so it's not even as if we're...

Re: Pavel's eBar

Realised I've not posted in here since last August. Time f***ing goes. <urgh> Damn adulthood, getting in my way of procrastinating on the internet. This is my first since last November! <urgh> Bloody hell Notre Dam Whilst it’s a shame, I find it a bit obscene that over half a billion (probably far ...

Re: The Message of Hate Thread

Browsing youtube last night and stumbled across a vid about "sovereign citizens" and then spent about five hours binge watching more. The existence of these monumentally annoying fuckwits had completely alluded me up until now, but they may well be the lowest form of human life yet detected. Mostly...

Re: Pavel's eBar

I wholeheartedly blame Cameron for this whole mess, who rarely gets a mention. This. We're in a constitutional crisis at the moment and nobody knows what actually controls the country: a referendum or the government. And it's entirely Cameron's fault for ruining the practice of electing a party bas...

Re: Pavel's eBar

Watching the Brexit debacle yesterday and the media truly is scrabbling about for anything to deem as newsworthy to fill LIVE broadcasts. One headline had me chuckling. "Ex Government mandarin describes what he thinks is going to happen" and the first sentence in the article from the person stated ...

Re: Pavel's eBar

Is anybody watching the new Louis Theroux? Suuuuper weird Yeah love Louis Theroux! Half the people seemed happy with the setup and half seemed pretty sad. Same, his stuff is awesome. And tbh this was probably the hardest to watch of all his stuff (yes, including that live radio rap battle he did ba...

Re: The Message of Hate Thread

The thing with antibiotic overuse though isn't about your personal resilience to bacteria, but about bacteria's resilience to the antibiotics. So even if you never use them, the overuse of them by others (I think including the massive use on livestock) is helping bacteria adapt to become resilient ...

Re: The Message of Hate Thread

As far as I'm aware I've only ever been on antibiotics once, so if I ever do need them in the future they should be quite effective for me... Ending spoiler (Hill House)

f***ing awful episode, holy crap. First five or so episodes were great, then it all started falling apart in a big mush of extended monologues, embarrassing dialogue and weepy sentiment. Gutted, it promised so much. <erk>

Re: Netflix Recommendations

I'll be on episode 5 tonight <ok> <divax> <divax> <diva> I'm watching it too, due to start ep 6 tonight. It's great, as you say it keeps you creeped out rather than relying too heavily on jumpscares. There's millions of easter eggs, unsettling stuff hidden in the background out of focus during norm...
