Re: Weekend football - 20/21 April 2024

When everyone is fit Palace are a handful, I wouldn’t be unhappy with a draw.

Looks like Everton will be stinking out the PL for another season.

Re: Weekend football - 20/21 April 2024

Isak would easily be on 30+ a season if he got the chances that someone like Darwin, Haaland or Jackson gets. Hopefully he’s 30+ for us next season! Only injuries can stop him, defences can’t. True, sadly! Hopefully if we have a second striker who isn’t crocked 60% of the time then he gets a few mo...

Re: Weekend football - 20/21 April 2024

Well, Chelsea deserve that. If you keep missing chances expect to get punished eventually. If they had Isak up front, they would have won comfortably. That Jackson is garbage at one on ones. Anyone else seen the plans to expand build a new stadium btw? Does this tap into FFP or is a separate thing entirely?
Spending on infrastructure doesn’t count.

Re: Weekend football - 20/21 April 2024

I'd be absolutely gutted if we finished above manure but they nicked our European place by winning the FA Cup. Agreed. Out of curiosity, how would you feel if Coventry upset the odds and won the cup? With us finishing sixth and losing Europa that way. I'd be quite satisfied with conference personal...

He won back to back promotions with his old club... And now is joining a start up club. Odd

I can see the Dubai lifestyle appealing to him
The rain there at the moment will make him feel at home.

Re: The Match Tickets Thread

Am I right in saying that only ST holders can put their tickets for resale, and not members?

Might mean resale tickets are more likely to come up closer to the day of the game?

Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist

We have way too many gaps in the side, as demonstrated by the low-points of this season to replace the best player of it. Some will say we could use his revenue to buy several upgrades, but having held tight pursestrings this year there'd be no excuse for selling the most talented player we have (n...

Re: Football Titbits

I completely believe and agree it's a financial decision too, however I can also imagine there's a supporter satisfaction consideration at play and if there is a lot of increased demand for single tickets, you can keep more people happier by having availability to see a couple games rather than the...

Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist

They found £115m for Rice and £70m for Havertz last summer… If he did move he’d probably want to go to a team capable of winning major trophies anyway. I think we could fetch at least £100-120m for Isak, perhaps more selling to a club in the same league... but I really hope it doesn't come to that....

Lol'ing at the logic from Arsenal fans thinking they could afford Isak this summer.

Could be that only 4th will be good enough for a CL spot this season but I'd welcome a strong europa league campaign from us next year.
Looks that way, another country can reward the mediocrity of 5th with an extra CL spot <laugh>

We weren’t getting 5th, let alone 4th anyway.

Re: 2023-24 Champions League!!!

No country should get 5 CL spots, it’s a piss take. You don’t have to be particularly amazing to finish 5th, Christ we’re only 10 points off it and have been decimated half the season! CL should be a reward for exceptional performance, not for being “alright” most of the season. But I’m old school a...

Bye bye Arsenal.

Bye bye Man City.

Glad Man C won’t retain it, open for any of the four to win now.
