Re: Sissoko to Spurs (Fee Agreed)
Sissoko going to a Champions League side. Somewhere Wigan legend Charles N'Zogbia is weeping into his pint wishing he'd had a better agent.

Re: Other Clubs' Transfer Rumours/Deals (Summer 16/17)
With the additional consideration that many players coming from Europe or Africa are likely to have kids who speak a fair deal of English too. My wife works in a gym near us and says Aitor Karanka's kids are the most polite kids in there, compare that with our players who can barely manage their own...

Re: Sissoko to Everton (Fee Agreed)
We've made £60m for a player who can't play away from home (although could come good if he settles to the league) and another who only turns up three games a season. Has Charnley become competent?

Thauvin had even less games. Two bad ones, crowd immediately on his back, confidence shot, see you later.

Re: Official: Riviere joins Osasuna
Hope he does well, always had decent hold up play just couldn't finish for s*** which was unfortunately what we needed! When I say he wasn't given a chance I meant in terms of not getting games in sensible positions with support, but I also meant literal chances. He must have barely got a shot per ...

Re: Official: Riviere joins Osasuna
His scoring record in France is pretty s***, so I didn't really know why we signed him in the first place. He was only 23 when we signed and had been Monaco's top scorer (albeit with Falcao injured and Martial still coming up). His numbers weren't amazing but given his tiny price tag and what else ...

Re: Other Clubs' Transfer Rumours/Deals (Summer 16/17)
Standard English player being scared of leaving their home comforts. Also without the hype of the English press behind him he's worried he'll get found out. He is good at neat little ten yard through balls but he mostly keeps the ball for two touches too many. Then cos he's stretching he gets a tou...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 16/17)
My issue is largely the fact that people think we have to spend more because our net spend is too low, rather than because we still have a couple of gaps we could do with strengthening. Given that we've just left a season where the cheap team that was well coached won the Premier League shouldn't th...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 16/17)
Honestly 'net spend' is the most irritating phrase to enter the football fans lexicon in years, and that's coming from someone with a finance degree (which I don't use...). It's even worse than 'stonewall penalty'. Net spend is relevant though. There is a difference between a club spending £50m on ...

Maybe the job description is like Defoe's PA, where on top of the obvious busy jobs you also have to program his app and manage his 'brand'.

Re: The Daryl Murphy Thread (DONE DEAL)
We'd still be paying him wages, and £5m now might as well be a pitiful loan fee 6 years ago.
Edit: In reply to Duke re Harewood, didn't realise I'd missed a page flip.

Re: The Daryl Murphy Thread (Fee Agreed)
... Sorry but you're not thinking straight. How can you say he's s***? Who you comparing him with ? His stats are decent . As for wanting the club to bring someone in for the future I'm bored with the number of times that old chestnut is used. Ffs we're still applying that to Mitro and he cost a fo...
