Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Spurs

How the **** did Maddison stay on the pitch. Straight red or two bookings? I don't think it was dangerous enough for a straight red, and in fairness to the ref he was extremely consistent. There's a fair argument he could've booked Maddison for crying like a baby when Burn wasn't booked two minutes...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Spurs

Suppose the only question is whether that's Krafth or Burn at left back.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Spurs

I really like the idea of this 'sound shirts' they are bringing out for deaf supporters. Not sure how it works, but looks a really great idea. Good to see a different sponsor as well, even if it is a one off. 3-1 Newcastle Apparently some display in the East Stand too, I might get some cardboard.

Re: Football Titbits

Timely from the club, 5% increases. I'm on the 10 year deal still, but looks like mine will go from about £600 to about £950 this time next year. Can't complain too much as the deal has been great, but that's a lot of money. The state of the "Internet football fans" in the comments though. "It's nee...

Re: Football Titbits

I'd forgotten to mention that part (ticket revenue being dwarfed by worldwide TV and sponsorship/merch sales), it was a heavily used argument for years quite rightly, but there's a hugely irritating trend towards "we need to bleed every penny for FFP" these days.

Re: Football Titbits

Should have had more flags. Whilst I do agree with fan protests in general, I feel there's a lot more to protest than a 2% increase. Considering how much everything in general has gone up. I work in a very underfunded sector, and was pleasantly surprised with a 14% increase this year. I suppose I'm...

Re: Joelinton set to sign new deal

Honestly the best news in ages. I know football is a business and I should care about FFP and net spend and other nonsense, but to have a player who went from almost a joke to the engine room in a CL team (as was) is what the game is about.

Re: 23/24 NUFC Kits Thread

It's all over. They've said I can reorder and if any of the items have gone up they'll refund the difference (f***ing madness), but the kids home kit is completely out of stock. I've basically just loaned Castore £80 for two months.

Re: 23/24 NUFC Kits Thread

I got ahead of myself. Dispatched on Friday, they're now already claiming lost in the post (Evri haven't received it yet). Offering me a refund or store credit, notably not "just give me my stuff".

What a shambles.

Re: Football Titbits

The problem with applying North American bias is that North American sports leagues exist in a bubble, nothing above, below or around. A salary cap in the PL wouldn't be matched across Europe, meaning big players suddenly start going back to Spain and Italy. Truth be told I could live with that if i...

I don't fully understand it all tbh... deduct them 10, to reduce to 6, then add on 2?? Where's the logic there?
Two separate charges across two separate periods. They were deducted 10 (reduced to 6) for I believe 21/22, this latest 2 points is for 22/23.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Cottagers

Pleasing ! Take it and roll in Seven points out of nine is an acceptable return from these three fixtures. For a squad that is right under the pump it’s credit to all involved in keeping us ticking over I’d say that’s an excellent return tbf. If I was offered that before the West Ham game I’d have ...
