Re: Football Titbits
Most clubs are owned by billionaires these days, you put it firmly in control of the owners, also I'd argue it makes clubs a lot more attractive in terms of being taken over. Personally think it's a better option than now, you currently have the same situation where only certain clubs are allowed to...

Re: Football Titbits
Neville mentioned something on the Overlap about how in league 2 a club can spend whatever they like as long as the owner puts the money in up front to cover the cost of the outgoing spend. It just makes so much sense. If an owner can afford to and is willing to put their money in then just let them...

Re: Football Titbits
There is no logic, FFP isn't worth the paper it's written on, if Everton wanted they could probably appeal and take the whole thing beyond the PL. The fact that they don't even know how to punish teams shows how little thought went into the rules. They only cared about keeping an artificially induce...

That horrific attempt at a knee slide from Bruno deserved to go to VAR more than the last one. **** me

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Cottagers
Murphy and Longstaff play like they are guaranteed starters, maybe that's because they are guaranteed starters.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Cottagers
To be honest it didn't look like much on Willock, kinda felt more like he just wanted off the pitch, he'd had a stinker. Murphy and Longstaff shocking as always, guaranteed at least one of them plays the 90 though. Getting to the point where I'm not even that pissed off at the performances because t...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Cottagers
Longstaff won't lose his place this season, only way Eddie would drop him is if Tonali Bruno and Joelinton are available for selection, even then it's not a 100% guarantee. He's almost as bad as Southgate for having personal favourites.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Toffees
Absolute dog s*** again. Howe is not the guy. Every team in this league will believe they can get points off of us now. We were told to expect a drop off this season but **** me, garbage.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Toffees
This really pisses me off, for all the talk of stream lining VAR yet we still have refs going to the screen just to agree with whatever VAR says. Completely pointless exercise.originallad wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 8:15 pmGreat. Penalty to everton. What's the point of even going to the screen. Ref always changes his mind.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v 'ammers
Rewatching MOTD, can’t get over how bad Longstaff’s attempted finish was when completely unmarked in the box, really don’t think it’s possible for him to do any worse than he did <laugh> He's getting progressively worse in all aspects of his game. His dire finishing could be excused before because ...

Re: Days lost through injury
The only silver lining is that Burn now has to play at centre back where he’s more suited (and can be third choice next season when we sign a new CB) and *hopefully* Hall gets a run at LB. **** knows what’s happened to Targett. You're thinking too logically here, more likely that Krafth or Dummett ...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v 'ammers
Was working but managed to catch the first half, missed the second, sounded like a mad half. Again the Hall situation is as baffling as ever, Howe even admitted he f***ed up with the first sub and that played a massive part in their first goal. Really don't know his f***ing process right now especia...

Re: Sandro Tonali Deal Confirmed? You bet!
These are allegedly from BEFORE his current ban, not during as suggested. He was investigated mid to late October. There so far isnt anything to suggest this has happened during his current ban, also this was known about last year and at the time the feeling was it wouldn't add to his current punish...

Re: International Breaks
Gordon had a decent game tonight. Shame him and the rest of the players have Southgate holding them back. I don't how you can have some of the most promising players in world football yet still play a conservative boring brand of risk aversive football. Hopefully he ends up at Man Utd sooner rather ...
