Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Forest

<negmas> Awful. Not trying to jump on the ridiculous Howe out bandwagon. But losing at home to Forest is unacceptable. If we lose at Liverpool which is 90% likely and lose against the Scum then serious questions need to be asked and he will be under serious pressure. <ok> We lose at SoS and there w...

I hope nobody starts to doom monger <whistle> Beaten at home to a s**** Forest team, get pumped at Anfield, then beaten at the SoS... Complete meltdown Season over <negmas> Awful. Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Forest

Get Burn & Miggy off now This. I don't know why on earth Burn is starting with Tino's form no reason to have dropped him? This is too reactive from Howe. Poor from the lads too, how are we making Wood look like Ronaldo? <erk> Get Big Joe on for Longstaff who should also start on the bench. Not good...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Forest

Should be 2-0 and almost home and hosed, now it’s 1-1 ffs This. Miggy is a lovely person but his purple patch / peak has hit I feel, we need a upgrade. Should be a impact / back-up player from next season onwards. I saw this coming from a while back.. Elanga / Hudson-Odoi are both pacey and tricky....

Re: Football Titbits

Rumour that Man U may terminate Sancho’s contract which would be mental considering he cost £71m just 2-3 years ago. Would defo take him, class player and under the right coaching and away from the car crash that is Man U he could still do very well. He apparently had attitude/discipline problems a...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Hatters

I'm not sure we can really blame our current woes on Howe Let's face it - 22 months ago we were rock bottom & doomed. Then came the transition .... Last year we punched above our weight - this year the punch bag has swung back & caught us on the jaw. Our squad was still nowhere near that of Arsenal...

I’d have started Tino but otherwise as you’d expect.
This. Wouldn't have started Trippier, he needs a mental and physical break. Should have rested him for Forest at home.

Re: Weekend football - 15/17 December 2023

West Ham 3-0 Wolves, Bowen with the third. He would be absolutely ideal for us, class player! This. Remember him being linked to us before going to the Hammers, wish we would have bought him then. Quality little' player with good pace, technical ability and sure does know were the net is. Would not...

Re: Howe under pressure?

Just been discussing this. For me he's more than proven himself as a coach and being able to put out 11 organised players and playing a really exciting and effective brand of football that gets results, that isn't in doubt at all. But for us now and where we want to be we cannot just look at that a...

Re: Lewis Hall Deal Closed

Howe's so cagey I think he'd say that regardless, but I think he'd have had more games if Howe was impressed by him. Agree on both points. When we've been down to the bare bones on our arses in games he's still rarely come off the bench. He can't be *that bad* surely so you do wonder if there's mor...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v AC Milan

Howes poor squad management has got us in this mess. Half a season to go with a physically and mentally exhausted team. You can't play every weekend and almost every mid week with the same 11 constantly without any rotation, inevitably the injuries start to come, some may call it bad luck, but at t...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Spurs

If Isak starts v Milan then I hope Wilson feels good enough to start v Fulham at the weekend. Isak has played so many minutes since returning from injury and looks f***ed. Would be fantastic if Barnes was back soo to at least be able to feature for 10-20 mins initially to take some of the workload ...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Toffees

Yes - agree . We're not going win the league this season given our staffing levels . Bring the subs in for a game like Everton - win or lose I don't care - otherwise we'll soon have Joe , Schar, Bruno & Tripps also in the treatment room - This. Line-up for Spurs should be this (really don't care if...

Re: Burn and Targett out injured for a couple of months

Great opportunity for Tino. But we really are to the bare bones now. God knows what our bench will look like. Time to give a few kids a run out against the lesser PL sides . I'd like to see Miley brought on . We have a 2 week break coming after about 11th Nov - enough time for a few of our crocked ...

If there's any long term issues with Isak https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1717327390311928166?t=eWxb6Ou6VAWWXgapKXcdKg&s=19 Why not reunite the Z warriors Definitely. Give him a short term contract until the end of the season. Would be good back-up and reunite him with Miggy. I want to se...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Borussia Dortmund

That was just kinda all a bit meh tonight against a very efficient and disciplined Dortmund. A few too many off it tonight and a bit sloppy on the ball far too often. A kinda grim reality check of just how hard this competition is when not on your A game Two off the bar late on, just to add to that...

Re: Matchday thread - AC Milan v Toon

I can't believe we don't have anyone better than Dan Burn at LB. This get Livermento / Hall on to give some attacking threat. Burns is not Champions League level.. not in the LB position anyway. Leao, Giroud and Chikzwuzula looking dangerous as a front three.. they've had like 10 attempts while we'...

Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist

Merih Demiral 👀 Though he prefers a move to Inter or to possibly stay in Italy he may be tempted West Ham were supposedly interested but they've now moved for Maguire, we did scout him last season so he might be one to keep an eye on. Is this the athletic and mobile CB to partner Botman in the long...
