We’ll windmill if we like
We’ll windmill if we like
We’re Newcastle United
We’ll windmill if we like
Saw that on twitter. No doubt it'll do the rounds at the Hawthornes

Re: Match thread - Oxford v NUFC ( FA cup 4 replay )
Really?!? While Lejeune is my favourite (though he's been shaky on return from injury) Ciaran Clark has been outstanding when called on and notably man of the match in a few recently. Ditto Fernandez really. If we're going to play 3 at the back we need 5 minimum, so I certainly wouldn't be moving o...

Re: Match thread - Oxford v NUFC ( FA cup 4 replay )
He was great in a 2 with lejeune though. We've got the players to cover for his weaknesses so they don't matter as much, a lot of great defences have worked that way Yeah fair point I forgot about that. Lejeune is comfortably our most rounded CB, I do worry still about Lascelles in possession much ...

How many times has Keown said Arsenal instead of Oxford now? Professionalism at it's finest.

Re: Match thread - Oxford v NUFC ( FA cup 4 replay )
It's probably the usual formation with a bit of shoehorning. Maybe it could be a more narrow version, sort of like a 5-4-1 diamond?
Yedlin - Schar - Lascelles - Lejuene - Ritchie
Bentaleb
Mlongstaff Slongstaff
Almiron
Joelinton

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Winter 2020)
It's from the mail, so pinch of salt etc, but I wouldn't be surprised. "It was also reported Soumare turned down Newcastle because he wasn't impressed with the club's training facilities after he was shown them in a video phone call." https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7958247/Newcas...

Re: Match day thread - NUFC v Norwich
We cannot persist with Joelinton anymore. It is genuinely like playing with 10 men Commentator that I had on absoloute loved him to bits for some reason. Whenever he missed a chance or played a poor pass, or whatever else it was apparently because of how hard he's worked and he must be tired and he...

Re: Match day thread - NUFC v Norwich
Not sure if Soumare would come in the summer though. Isn't all the talk that the club accepted the offer but the player didn't want to come? Possibly it's due to relegation fears, like what happened with Jean Michael Sarri and Fulham. But we won't be in too dissimilar a position come the summer. Se...

Re: Match day thread - NUFC v Norwich
I think you need Hayden or someone to hold. Not sure Bentaleb or Soumare will play that Kante role This. Bentaleb more of a all round box-to-box can score, create, assist, pass and defend. Hayden more of a holding DM. But yeah as someone mentioned with a fully fit team and squad add in a quality st...

Do we expect Rose, Lazaro and Bentaleb all to start then? I can't see any reason why not.

Re: Match day thread - NUFC v Norwich
Don't ask me why but I'm feeling confident. We need a good strong win, not these dour smash and grabs as of late. 3-1. Almiron, Hayden, Lascelles.
