Next season:
A sign up thread will shortly be created where everyone who wants to take part next season has to confirm that they do. New predictors will also be welcomed to take part. The above final rankings will be used to determine the leagues for next season. Ideally it would be great to have 2 leagues of 20. The league format will be different next season though. Everyone will only play each other once instead of twice because as this season has highlighted 38 game weeks are too much to manage. Once everyone has played each other once the top 4 will have some play off games to determine the overall winner. The bottom 3 of the Premier League and the top 3 of the Championship will also have play off games with each other. As well as the two leagues of 20 where everyone plays each other once there will once again be some cup competitions running and with having less league games it means we can have more cup games than this season.
<badger> <badger> <badger>
Cheers to everyone for taking part in the 2012/2013 prediction leagues and I hope you have enjoyed the season and will be back for more predicting next season. I'm sorry about some of the updates taking quite a bit longer than expected to be done, I'll make sure that will not be the case next season. Within the next week I'll make the sign up thread for the new season so keep a look out for that <ok>

Why do you get more points for winning the EL than you do the Championship, while you get more points for winning the PL than you do the CL?

Well if you are Wigan this season would you rather win the Championship or EL?
The <erk>'sburg dynasty is over 3 seasons, 3 division 1 titles.

To give people in the Championship an opportunity to become the overall prediction league champion for the season.

Yeah it doesn't. But it gives the opportunity for a Championship player to score high up in the overall standings.

That kind of hubris will be your downfall. Like Notts Forest in our Championship season, "I'm catching and you are looking over you shoulder"

I think you might have won, that semi final win over Beardface should have done it as the winner of that was going to win overall I believe giving your similar league standings and the poor shows in the Champions League from those above yous in the league.

The final overall rankings are calculated and in the OP. For next season the top 20 ranked returning predictors will be placed in the premiership and the remaining returning predictors and new predictors will be placed in the championship.

This season we will have 4 cup competitions as well as the two leagues. Unlike last season the cup competitions aren't interlinked (with exception of the Champions league and Europa league) so it is possible to challenge for and win 3 cups and 1 league title. Although there will be less league games this season there will be more cup games to make up for it and the leagues have an exciting new format. A new ranking system will be revealed later in the season as well. This ranking system is fairer and allows championship predictors the chance to become the overall toon forum prediction league champion.

To sign up for next season comment on this thread http://www.toonforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=5425" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or the identical one in general discussion. <cheers>
