Next week in footballers buying lower-league club sponsorship:

Steven Taylor pays to sponsor Sunderland's shirts and donates it to the Post Office, to encourage budding stamp collectors
In return Kane gets to claim all of the Orient's goals as his own

I really hope Harry Kane doesn't become a pundit when his career is over. He has the most boring voice I've ever heard.

Got this through related to my job, thought it was quite cool (and shows how appallingly we're doing (3rd highest % of fatalities, twice the average)). Our percentage of people dying is far higher than the US, their population is just far bigger. Boris and other senior Tories should be fired.

It's really interesting but relies on every country reporting their data truthfully and in a standard way. I bet China, Russia and Iran in particular are vastly understating their death figures. I wouldn't be surprised if Iran's at least 10x higher than they are reporting.

Even if they do report honestly there can be discrepancies in the calculations (ie does a country include anyone who dies with coronavirus death in their tally or only if that was the primary cause of death etc)

True, and it will vary. Ours is reportedly far higher than the official figures suggest as will be the case in most/all other countries no doubt.

Is a bandana really the piece of cloth they think most people will have?

I believe many people making these are cutting a suitably sized bit of cloth from old t-shirts or pillow cases.

But yeah it is a bit weird suggesting bandana like that is something a Brit is likely to have.

It's also a lot denser in the UK and the cities are a lot more connected to each other. Compare the UK to individual states and you'll see the US has f***ed this up worse and only getting away with it in the low density and isolated areas.

It was probably cravat originally, but the government decided they would need to be more in touch with the youth of today, with their bandanas and boomboxes.

You mean the youth of today no longer wear silk cravats and smoking jackets?

The whole thing has clearly been drawn up by a bunch of old men who are totally out of touch with reality. Just like the whole "your servants may return to your home to resume work, but you shall not invite family members!" thing.

So Cummings has rather dropped himself in the s*** and rather than forcing home to resign or sacking him the government have closed ranks and put out rather scripted and very similar statements on Twitter saying he did the right thing and completely going against any advice they have ever given.

Ah to live in the days of Blair again.

There was someone else on the "left" , mp, lord, public figure who broke the lockdown, went to see his dad on his birthday or something, sociallybdistanced and Hancock said it was a police matter...
