Got a bottle of Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve - pretty decent, smooth and mellow.

Had a £25 M&S voucher from Xmas that I hadn't spent, picked up a bottle of their own Speyside Single Malt (only a small M&S so choice was limited). Not bad, plenty of flavour but you can get better in ALDI for £18/£20 if you're after a cheap, solid day-to-day bottle.

Yeah 1792 is lovely. Tried a bottle of that last Xmas/New Year. Need to get another bottle.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 9:26 pmGot a bottle of 1792 bourbon at the weekend, very nice!
Just finished Woodford Reserve Double-Oaked for the first time. Even nicer than the standard reserve, which is saying something.

Not had any of those tbh, never really dabbled in Irish whisky. Stout edition sounds interesting!

Just noticed this sorry for late replyBodacious Benny wrote: ↑Tue Oct 12, 2021 5:13 amNot had any of those tbh, never really dabbled in Irish whisky. Stout edition sounds interesting!
So the stout edition is interesting, not bad nor great the best way to describe it is a nice smooth whiskey that's worth having just for that something different.
Would I buy it as an everyday tipple probably not but I will replace it when I finish it.
it's on sale atm on amazon at £20 so worth that price for sure.
They also do a IPA edition.

Just tried a dubiously named sour mash called Daddy Rack. Despite its terrible name it has quite an interesting taste, it is apparently aged in charcoal barrels and as a result has a distinctively smoky flavour. Quite nice, not top draw but worth a go and definitely a bit different from other bourbons/sour mash i've tried.
