Great news
I'm the scumbag outlaw. You're the pillar of justice. Neither of us like looking at ourselves in the mirror. Do we have a deal?

Not a fan of his music really, but went to see him live when he performed in my hometown (major artists rarely do so I generally go and see anybody/group that does), and he was an amazing performer. He had a broken leg, in a full cast, so I thought he'd just go through the motions and mostly stand at the mic or even sing sitting down. Nope, he put in more effort than a standard mosh-pit. He must have been in agony and the sweat was pouring off him. Very nice guy as well apparently, so RIP big fella!

Yeah I'd seen him twice, probably around mid 2000s so obvs way past his energetic peak but he still gave his all and put on a show! Always came across as a really decent guy when I saw him on TV and so on too.Donkey Toon wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 2:40 pmYep RIP!Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 2:33 pmRIP MeatLoaf!

I've been trying to remember when it was I saw him, and then they just featured his performance, complete with broken leg, on the local news. It was 1983. 38 years ago, makes me feel old.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 3:20 pmYeah I'd seen him twice, probably around mid 2000s so obvs way past his energetic peak but he still gave his all and put on a show! After managing to steer clear of Covid for 22 months, I finally tested positive on Sunday. Thankfully I feel absolutely fine but it is boring and inconvenient.

Nice to see some familiar folks are still keeping this forum alive, can’t believe it’s been over two years since I was last on here & even that was a fleeting visit after a long absence, life huh?
“Let us toast to animal pleasures, to escapism, to rain on the roof and instant coffee, to unemployment insurance and library cards, to absinthe and good-hearted landlords, to music and warm bodies and contraceptives... and to the "good life", whatever it is and wherever it happens to be.”
