Christmas Debauchery

Post by originallad » Tue Dec 19, 2023 9:55 pm

So...

When is it ok to start drinking brandy at 8am?

Eat chocolates with your Baileys just before you fall asleep on the sofa at 2am?

And eat cheese and port, whenever and wherever.

...and when is the "appropriate" time to stop?

Are you caring for small children or driving? If the answer is no then go mad.

When I saw the title I thought this was gonna be some slash fiction about Santa's sexcapades...

Been under the weather since the day I finally logged off.

First two days were 100% a hangover but then it just kept going on and on.

Missus tested positive for COVID so was forced to take the test and I'm negative.

Drinking again today from 11am as I've been baking biscuits, brandy snaps and gingerbread decorations for the big day.

Now haven't a clue if I'm cooking for 3 or 6 but don't give a crap as just enjoying myself.

Love it….kicks in tomorrow from about noon

This is when I get more than my usual unhinged and lose track of the days tbh.

My Christmas specials always include a bit of indulging in the Whisky store for tasting random samples before embarking on an adventurous purchase. Dunno what I’ll end up with this year, a couple of random single malts after talking bollocks to the shop whisky connoisseur

Feeling great I then go on the most random last minute Xmas shop ever, always seem to turn out all right, usually land one or two last minute hits.

Just go for it folks….perpetual top up mode

Car doesn’t move for about ten days

Howlin Wolf blaring out, one of the nice bottles of wine I've saved for 10 months (1996 Nuits Saint-George Premier Cru) after a trip to France, just cooked Veal Milanese and feeling good.

Got my cooking order list done for 5 courses with some leeway so I can eat and very chilled.

Cooking a trip of crab dishes as a starter (crab custard with a crab and mint salad, devilled crab on sourdough toast and a crab and prawn cocktail with a bloody Mary dressing), palate cleanser of goats cheese mousse with a celery sorbet before the main course of crown of turkey and a venison wellington with all the trimmings, another palate cleanse with fried watermelon, hoisin sauce and caramelised goats cheese and then a gingerbread cheesecake with a Xmas pudding toffee sauce.

Fun and games tomorrow with prep so not hitting booze hard but nice to chill out and relax.

Merry Xmas to you all!!! Hope you have a great day.

Took a COVID test this morning and it's positive so Xmas meal has been cancelled with guests.

I'm allowed to cook the hot stuff and bring it out the oven, miniOT will be doing the cold courses and I'm to eat in a different room.

Bunch of arse!!

terrible news!
i got covid a couple of christmases ago, but it was great! wasnt that sick, and i was supposed to work literally all of christmas, but instead i was required by law to isolate at my parents for 10 days in newcastle instead of at the other end of the country by myself, and no one caught it off me either
