During the summer I generally leave my windows open half an inch otherwise the car is unbearable.

Can't do that where I live or some little f***er will come along and rip the window out.

I went to the local tip yesterday and left the boot open as I walked to one of the garden waste containers and when I was coming back saw some a**hole was rummaging the boot of my car for stuff to steal. Shouted and he ran off with nothing but that takes the piss.

Off furlough from start of August and over the moon. Back to work; from home but very happy to get back amongst it all again.

My Dad has a new term he's been using the last few days to describe a problem on social media.

I have to tell him what "Glory Hole" means now.

As an example, having too much clutter in the house is a "glory hole" every family has.

Woke up at 6am and quietly as possible taped up the walls we had re-plastered due to rising damp and started painting the sealant.

Was moaned at by 8am because the house stinks and it woke everyone up. I've got the undercoat do start tomorrow morning so they'll be really pissed off.

Bit of a random one, but did we ever find out if that German Pardew superfan was Skalps?

It wasn't me. No idea who it was, and I missed the whole thing because iirc I was away on a holiday getting engaged at the time.

Unfortunately, even if I did have the urge, the material isn't out there anymore. There are a few news articles on the topic, but it seems the original vid got taken down. The explosion in Beirut is absolutely awful. If the cause they are talking about (2750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate in a warehouse) is true then the scale of the damage will be huge. I was reading a comparison with the Oklahoma City bombing. They used 2 tonnes of it and killed 168 people and injured hundreds more. It affected dozens of cars and buildings within a 16 block radius, with some buildings completely destroyed and caused around $650m worth of damage.

I think the only saving grace here is that it was in the port and not further inland.
