Thinking about getting a new phone but dunno which to be honest.

Any recommendations or anyone know much about the new windows 8 phones coming out

Well, I can't say much about Windows 8, but I did buy a WP7 phone a couple of months ago (Lumia 710) and have been quite pleased with it. It doesn't have much customisation and the amount of apps available is small compared to Android and iOS. It does have all the apps you need though - Facebook, Twitter, Skype, Whatsapp etc.

I was looking at the new lumia's or htc 8x/s. I heard that they haven't revealed all the new features yet and am guessing you will get most when your phone gets the 7.8 update

I've got a HTC Desire HD and it's a pretty rape phone, it's also practically indestructible, which is handy for me <butterfingers>. All my experiences of HTCs have been good, so I'd recommend one of them.

I like the look of the HTC 8x/s so going to wait for them to be released and see if any major secret announcements apps wise

My phone cost a tenner. It has buttons and is hard to break. I don't like being able to check emails on the go

Yeah. It's a shame we won't be getting the full 8 update, but at least 7.8 will bring the new start screen plus some other new features.

If you're thinking about Android as an option, I've seen the upcoming HTC One X+ being touted as the best Android phone yet.

You will have say what the update like to help make my mind up. I know one thing it cant be as bad as a blackberry...

I have a Wankberry at the moment. I concur with your sentiments.

Personally, I'd get the S3. Quality phone.

Had my WP7 for nearly 2 years now, and definitely getting a WP8 soon. Like you I'm kinda waiting on some more reviews but looking at the HTC 8x and Lumia 920.
There was a big WP8 conference today revealing new details
