I've been lucky here lads. Sure I've broke an arm, a wrist (first game of a 6 a side tournament and I played all six games) and done a ligament in but nowt too bad.

Worst thing was getting hit in the eye with a squash ball. No bruising as it was ball to eyeball, dead centre. In work the next day my boss wanted to know why I was behind. "I can't see my screen, double vision from squash injury" "You play squash? We need a game sometime, take a long lunch break on Thursday and we'll play"

Was at Rugby training once and ran into my mate and our two knee caps just smashed together. It was unbelievably painful- thought I had broken my kneecap though no real damage was done. Imagine someone giving you a deadleg but to your kneecap! Couldn't walk until about 3 days later.

One evening while playing Rugby a lad collapsed in a heap of pain after dislocating his hip. Luckily his coach knew how to fix the problem and decided to put it back into place. To the team's surprisement the lad started screaming even more and had to be sent to hospital due to the agony.
Turns out one of his testicles had slipped into the socket right before the hip was put back into place.

Isn't that a Jason Manford joke?

Or is it actually something that's surprisingly and terrifyingly common? <worried>

People with missing limbs in Boston, think that has to be very painful.

I've just snapped my quad tendon. I've had a few nasty ones but I find the ones that sound bad (broken bones, studs to the face) don't hurt as much as those that don't even sound bad like pulled muscles and dislocated shoulders. This is up there with the most painful I've ever had

Yeah this is definitely true as my experience goes. I tore my hamstring and it hurt much more than anything else I've done playing sports.

Snapping a tendon just sounds horrible though <erk>

Just playing football. Last few months I've had quadriceps tendinosis (basically little tears in the tendon) but I went to a physio and he told me I should keep playing and keep it loose, so 89th minute of the last game of the season, taking a goal kick and I hear a snap. Typical!

Yeah I should be. It might need an op but I'm just glad it happened right at the end of the season. Cheers <ok>
