I'm liking the word 'guild' somewhere in the title <gent>

One of my mates and his wife have just had a baby - I've sent him a bottle of Knob Creek via the Whisky Exchange.

Just having Wild Turkey 101 before bed.

http://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/P-1237.aspx

It's 50.5% so packs a punch, but despite that it's surprisingly smooth with good deep flavour. My friend travels to Malaysia for work a lot and usually brings me back a 1L bottle duty free for £13 <diva>

Knob Creek Single Barrel Reserve 9 y/o

Had some of this on Saturday night at a friends house. I've got to say that personally, I thought that the 'standard' Knob Creek packed more of a bunch and had a much better flavour. Don't get me wrong, it's a decent drink but at double the price of normal Knob Creek I'm not sure what extra you get for your money.

Views on Buffalo Trace? Didn't spot a review. Ive only had it when drunk and thought it was ok, a bit like Jim Beam - but I was hammered <cheers>

I think it's a solid buy for £20 a bottle, definitely a very good buy for an 'everyday' drink. Its good decent flavour and spice for a £20 borboun. I'd say it's much better than Jim Beam.

I usually have a bottle on the go and would happily recommend it.

Has anyone got any recommendations for decent blended whiskey? It's an area that I haven't really dabbled before tbh but heard there is some good stuff out there.

Bump.

Balvenie Single Barrel First Fill has just arrived on the shelves at my local ASDA, £40. Definitely picking up a bottle on Friday.
