I'd highly suggest Oban if anyone likes Scotch.

Going through a period of trying Japanese whiskeys and enjoying it.

Oban is on my list. Oban 14 is listed as one of the "Six Classic Malts".

Had a bottle a few years ago but don't remember too much about it, but I drank it all relatively quickly so can't have been bad!

I've had Hibiki 12 (I think) which was decent, a Japanese blended whisky.

I'm a big fan of it. They do a 15 and 18 year too I believe which I once had in what was a former Soho flophouse

I agree. Of the many i've tried over the years Laphroaig is my favourite by quite some margin. Love the stuff.

I'm quite partial to Ardbeg Uigeadail as well. And lagavulin 16.

My old boss got her husband a bottle of Ardberg Alligator for their wedding anniversary a couple of years ago but told him he wasn't allowed to open it as it was too expensive to drink <laugh>

Last time I saw a bottle of that it was about $400. Lots of money for a bottle your not allowed to drink.

Yeah, I find with those kind of things that you get bang average beers, but if you're cancelling straightaway then nothing to lose.

I agree, it's spectacular. See if you can get a bottle of laphroaig cairdeas or Ardbeg Uigeadail. Both similar and both great.

Having my first taste of Eagle Rare this evening.

Up there with Woodford Reserve and Jeffersons for me and it's possible that by the time I reach the bottom of the bottle it may well be my favourite. Enjoying it immensely!
