Must admit that my whisky intake has fallen of late. Found a new beer shop near where I live so been drinking more beer lately, will get back on the whisky over the bank holiday. Should get a couple of new bottles for my birthday in a few weeks too <cheers>

Not the only one... I've been lagging. Can't remember the last time I had a drink. Think I'll leave it for a while.

I didn't mind it tbh. I got a bottle before Xmas and it was only £14 on Amazon. For that price I had no complaints.

Getting myself a man cave in September and I'm focusing more on my drinks cabinet that the rest of the room. I'm thinking MacCallen, Woodford Reserve, Bulleit and Blanton's. Any suggestions?

Some solid choices there. Get a bit of Wild Turkey 101 and Eagle Rare and you're good to go!

Tried Blantons for the first time last night, really good stuff, but considering it's price of around £45 a bottle I'm not sure it's worth the extra over Woodford Reserve at £25. That said, it is loads smoother than Eagle Rare with a similar flavour.

I'd like to try the Blantons Gold but at £65 a bottle it's in Stagg Jr territory and I can't see it beating that.

Yes Blantons is a decent drink, but can see your point. I've got a Blantons Gold and it is very nice, incredibly smooth. It depends what you're looking for, Stagg Jnr is a much more serious bourbon and packs a punch (probably a higher abv too). Out of the two for a 'special drink' the Stagg Jnr wins hands down.

Damn that's cheap! When it's on offer it's still usually £18-£20.

Yeah, cheapest I've ever seen. Found it in a town about 40 minutes from my house, somewhere I'd never usually be. Convinced I've found some sort of cheap whiskey twilight zone.

Pleasantly surprised by the Jim Beam Double Oak. Brilliant for 20 quid a bottle. A bit OTT with the oakiness, if that makes any sense, but it stands up really well in a cocktail. It's still a young whiskey but has some of the complexity of some older aged bourbons.

More interesting than most of the budget bourbons around a similar price.

Yeah I got a bottle of it before Xmas last year on Amazon for about £15. I happily drink it best, had a few on Sunday when our match was on. Nice stuff.
