Sat in Basel airport for almost 4 hours now. Plane arrived and was quickly deemed grounded due to fumes of unknown origin.

Basel airport section I'm in has one tiny, tiny bar only selling cans of Heineken and really dodgy sandwiches so I'm roughing it out on duty free chocolate and s*** beer.

Replacement flight due sometime about 9pm local time...

At airport on way back from Munich.

Had two days here and then got the train to Salzburg for a day trip (only 1h 45m from Munich), would highly recommend both.

Salzburg was lovely. We went down for the Xmas markets so was still nice, crisp cold and snowy.

Booked my solo trip to France for middle of August. Off to Tours for a night, head to a mates house for a few days and then a few quick stops as I head up the Loire Valley to take in Ambois, Blois, Orleans and spend the last night in Paris.

Then off to see my Dad in West Palm Beach in mid-October as his health is slowly deteriorating.

I'm off to Perth next month to visit a mate - only there for 12 nights so not travelling to the East Coast but will explore plenty in and around Perth.
