Off to Dublin in a couple of weeks, any recommendations other than the obvious?

Bars, restaurants, things to see in the day. Got 4 full days there so might even hire a car one day and head out of the city for a day.
Find a comedy club or gig but not super central. comedy in Ireland is great.

Maybe 8 years ago I saw Adam Hills in Dublin. He'd lived and worked there for a decade. So he went off script quite alot and just talked about Dublin with the audience. Was great

<ok> Seen some great stand-up gigs in Wolves over the years where I live but nothing since well before Covid so not a bad shout.

All booked up for Italy this summer and spending a few days each in Rome, Florence, Venice and Milan before heading to Lake Como for a week.

Just have to hope for no new variants of covid or WW III

I loved Florence. Spent a week there a few years ago. Loved reading the negative reviews on the places specialising in Florentine steak, generally from Americans who wanted it well done with ketchup and the restaurants refused outright.

My only visit to Italy was a week in Naples. Great historical and architectural sites to visit, plus Vesuvius, Pompeii, Herculaneum etc and the nearby Amalfi Coast. My only advice would be find somewhere outside of Naples to stay and just visit the city. Because frankly much of the city itself is a complete dump.

Definitely worth doing though.

Will be having my first overseas holiday since before the pandemic in June - Majorca in April 2019 was my last one, coincidentally the same holiday where I found out that my wife at the time was interested in someone else <laugh>

Not booked anywhere yet, just going to see what deals come up.

I wouldn't call it a holiday, but had a long weekend in Cleveland, Ohio for a friend's wedding recently. What a dire place. I'll never go back

I don't know to be honest. I went to Italy 15 years or so ago and haven't been on a holiday since 2009 when I went to Egypt. I'm completely out of touch with the current travel requirements, especially since covid.
