Re: Holidays
Watch yourself on the side streets of the Ramblas. I s*** you not, in the first hour we were there, the same bloke tried to pick my pocket twice, the six of the **** tried to mug me and Mrs Sombrero. It was only that she was making such a racket and throwing her fists about that they stopped when folk realised what was happening. Imo they don't deserve visitors. The police know what's going on and do f*** all to stop it.beardface wrote:Off to Barcelona in a couple of weeks. Recommendations welcome
Other than that, it's a nice city. Didn't spoil our break at all, in fact we were laughing about t half an hour later.
The cable car over the city is well worth a go. Bus tour is good, cathedral, footy ground, the usual touristy stuff.

Malta is one of the best places I've ever been. Cheap beer, cheap/amazing food, specially seafood, Valletta is stunning, you can either go to party, chill by the pool or have a historical holiday, everyone speaks English but they are culturally different enough for it to be interesting.football420420 wrote:you should go to Malta it s beautifull and the weather is perfect !Having a Good time wrote:Anyone got any recomendations for where to go?

Re: Holidays
I was really close to moving to Valletta for a year after Prague. Even had a rental house picked out and everything. Wish I'd done it .Magdia wrote:Malta is one of the best places I've ever been. Re: Holidays
Dunno how I'd cope living there, those huge hills in 30 degree heat weren't fun The most beautiful city I've ever been to, so many restaurants, shops, bars etc in such a small space as well, 15 minute boat ride from Silema where you can go to relax on the rocks by the sea and there are yet more restaurants and bars.skalpel wrote:I was really close to moving to Valletta for a year after Prague. aye, and everything you'd said was ringing through my ears along with the 94 decibels of lower east side ambience which was blasting through my permanently open first floor window .PTAO wrote:Told you not to got to NYCskalpel wrote:

Just stay away from Gozo, which I understand is basically Shutter Island for pensioners.Magdia wrote:Dunno how I'd cope living there, those huge hills in 30 degree heat weren't fun The most beautiful city I've ever been to, so many restaurants, shops, bars etc in such a small space as well, 15 minute boat ride from Silema where you can go to relax on the rocks by the sea and there are yet more restaurants and bars.skalpel wrote:

I loved visiting New York. Wouldn't want to live there like, but would love to go back.

Just back from Alicante. Nice city / beach break - its a bit like a small Barcelona. The sun was out every day, it was really hot but quite windy - it may have felt warmer in the UK tbh which is typical! Ive come home with my usual t-shirt tan
