I've just read 'the signs were there' about recent disaster on the stock market, cos I'm dead cool like.

Also, despite not being into the genre, read the 'wayfarers' series by Becky Chambers. Its Sci fi but about the societies and cultures in space not pew pew space battles. Reminded me a bit of the council and races of mass effect.

You should read Too Big to Fail by Sorkin.
