Re: Coronavirus
Once lockdown is over I'm thinking of self isolating an extra week or 2, got few people in my family that need shielding and I don't trust the government or people in general, so I'll wait it out before I decide on getting back to normal.

Don't blame you at all for extending self isolation. I'm 100% not going on the tube and will try and extend the Work From Home guidelines as long as possibleDon Sholeone wrote: ↑Sat May 09, 2020 6:38 pmOnce lockdown is over I'm thinking of self isolating an extra week or 2, got few people in my family that need shielding and I don't trust the government or people in general, so I'll wait it out before I decide on getting back to normal.

Be a step or two 'behind' the government. I'm not letting the mrs out or letting myself socialise for a few weeks after the government let it happen. Just not worth it.Don Sholeone wrote: ↑Sat May 09, 2020 6:38 pmOnce lockdown is over I'm thinking of self isolating an extra week or 2, got few people in my family that need shielding and I don't trust the government or people in general, so I'll wait it out before I decide on getting back to normal.

As for the lockdown, York has been pretty good although we have had to move on a few more people than usual.
Considering the government f*** ups, bank holiday and nice weather it could have been far far worse.

So essentially the new mantra is to stay alert at home and not on public transport?

Yep. Pretty much full licence for parks to fill up with people meeting up with friends. The police surely won't be able to impose that much social distancing.Blue & Maroon wrote: ↑Sun May 10, 2020 6:36 pmI am. Been a boring but frustrating time. Relaxing the exercise rules a big mistake.

Re: Coronavirus
It's completely unnatural moving people on, breaking up groups and telling people they cant be out I public. No matter how just you are in doing so, which I believe me and my colleagues have been. We've had a lot of s*** despite the rules being very sensible, actually despite the face they were brought in too late, and they are working.overseasTOON wrote: ↑Sun May 10, 2020 6:47 pmYep. Just asking for backchat, cheek and disobedients now. Maybe it will make no difference, as exercise and food etc are still the only reasons to be out but I fear people will use it as an excuse to be out any hour.

Well done Boris, more London centric influenced pish from your media and spin doctors. Embarrassing that this guff comes from the mouth of the country’s so called leading politician.
If only wee Nicola wasn’t so Indy minded she’d lead the UK through this on a far more clear and grounded way.
What we have now is four counties is in one Union going their own way through this pandemic thanks to the garbage from Westminster.
What next, hard borders at Wales, Scotland and Ireland ??

So if people who can’t work from home go back to work does that mean childminders, nurseries etc can open?

I've got a theory and it's a bit "out there" but, I think that Boris Johnson is a bumbling, clueless, dangerous f***ing idiot. He hasn't got the first idea what the f*** is going on or what to do about it and neither do the people who are paid to advise him on these things. He's struggling because he actually has to be serious and cannot just put on his usual performance and bluff and joke his way through it.
Keir Starmer is going to absolutely f***ing destroy him for many, many months to come and it is going to be glorious watching it.

I don't know about that. The first thing I noticed was that he'd made an effort with his hair
Now apparently we can go anywhere, and meet up with other people so long as you're outside and stay 2 meters apart.

There will no doubt be scores of new employers to add to the s*** List. I'd imagine there will be a few that demand the return of employees despite the lack of guidance around childcare.
