London rightly heading for Tier 3 and loads of people bleating on about it thinking that London should somehow be treated differently to the rest of the country despite case rates soaring <urgh>

I'm more than happy to be heading into tier 3. The rates of infection have ratcheting up to extent that Xmas will be a super spreader event and we should have been in tier 3 at the start of December.

What a lovely Christmas present, a potentially more virulent strain sweeping across London right when the virus is about to take its Christmas holiday <awe>

And then complain when we go back into lockdown in January.

Matt Hancock advice if you live in Kent:

"The only way that we can get it under control is for people in Kent is to essentially behave as if they have the virus and are trying not to pass it on to somebody else."

If I lived in Kent would that mean I could walk up to my ex mother-in-law and sneeze in her face as that's what I'd do if I had the virus <scratch> <whistle>

About to head into tier 4. Surely that's Xmas cancelled with family coming over?

Rules should never have been relaxed for Xmas in the first place, it’s one day.

Just contacted all the in-laws who were invited and cancelled.

Alas, the Turkey was on my father-in-laws food order so have to make do with a haunch of Venison I ordered for the Boxing Day meal :)

Venison Wellington for Xmas day and then some Venison ragu with left overs.

Boris Johnson openly mocked Keir Starmer for even suggesting that we tighten the rules at Christmas just 3 days ago. Another u-turn. If he was in any other job he'd have been fired by now.

I'm happy enough that the option to u-turn is always available during this pandemic and the government is reactive. They do react a tad too slow but trying to make balanced decisions to safeguard individuals and the economy based on emerging data isnt an easy thing to do.

Making u-turns shows that they are constantly making the wrong decisions. They then react to the backlash and act like the decisions are made due to new information. I realise it's not easy but to get nearly every single decision wrong is pathetic.

Health before the economy, people won't go out and 'save' the economy if there is a virus like this circulating to wildly. People aren't economic robots.

I normally disagree with the flak politicians get for making U-Turns I actually think it can be an admirable trait, shows a willingness to listen and adapt but the Tories have been about 5 steps behind the advice and rest of the world and consistently got things wrong and been forced to U-Turn for fear of catastrophe. Let's also be clear this isn't just about a U-Turn, many families who often struggle will have wasted precious funds on food, train fares, maybe hotels that are all now useless.

Not to mention the fact we are heading into an even worse ideological self inflicted disaster on Jan 1st. It may get very very messy.

Brighton and Southampton who both were allowed several thousand fans at their games last weekend now put into tier 4. Utterly moronic to have fans back during the autumn / winter months.

No more lockdowns. Let the public do what ever they want.
