Re: Coronavirus
In all seriousness though, what do we do if the vaccine isn't as effective as we hope? Or we get the inevitable mutantion that isn't covered by the vaccine and this starts all over again? Just all live indoors forever?Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Sat Dec 26, 2020 10:52 pmA friend of my girlfriend invited us to a New Year’s Eve party at her house...shows the mentality of a lot of people.
Sooner or later it is going to have to open up again.

Fair point, but in the U.K. at the moment it’s a ridiculous thing to be doing (throwing a party).Hjl wrote: ↑Sat Dec 26, 2020 10:57 pmIn all seriousness though, what do we do if the vaccine isn't as effective as we hope? In theory if the vaccine wasn’t effective then in summer things could be more ‘normal’ as cases are much much lower but in winter we might have to stay at home more.

I agree with the lockdown at the moment, it is unsustainable long term though.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Sat Dec 26, 2020 11:05 pmFair point, but in the U.K. at the moment it’s a ridiculous thing to be doing (throwing a party).Hjl wrote: ↑Sat Dec 26, 2020 10:57 pm

Re: Coronavirus
I mean the actual rules allowed people who'd been at school a week before and work that week to meet with two other households before going straight back to work and school. Obviously there are people breaking the rules, but there's plenty of room for it to spread regardless.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 5:08 pmTier 4 from midnight thanks to all the stupid w****** who can’t follow the rules.

True, I was talking more about how busy the city centres looked on weekends with people out on the piss.Colly wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 10:25 pmI mean the actual rules allowed people who'd been at school a week before and work that week to meet with two other households before going straight back to work and school. Schools is a tricky one, you can’t keep children out of education for 9 months (not just for educational reasons, but for social ones too).

The scenes of people drinking in Covent Garden were ridiculous. There is no way everyone was eating. The rules were flouted down south and we are all paying for it now

Normally I hat criticisms of U turns, normally they show a willingness to listen but to tell parents yesterday that kids can go to school (wrongly) then locking down today is just mental. Day late pound short and still promising too much. Stupid blonde f***er needs stringing up and pelting with stones.

Just a mess man, I can forgive March and the botched exams etc the first time, to some extent but this is unforgivable.

Every single decision he has made has been the wrong one. Before making a u-turn to a decision that was suggested by an opposition leader. When the opposition leader suggests it he normally mocks them too.Blue & Maroon wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 8:07 pmNormally I hat criticisms of U turns, normally they show a willingness to listen but to tell parents yesterday that kids can go to school (wrongly) then locking down today is just mental. Villa have to olay youth team in fa cup. Obviously a serious situation.... But if this happens six times to certain clubs we could get to the fa cup final?

Do you think our first team would beat six youth teams in a row?Colback's Orange Tufts wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 8:24 amhttps://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55575321

Did a self test today as part of a research thing. The throat swab was so difficult for me, nearly threw up twice , the nasel swab wasn't too bad, just eye watering.

I had a camera up my nose once and it was a horrible experience. Makes my eyes water just thinking about it .Don Sholeone wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 3:02 pmDid a self test today as part of a research thing. Edit: It's called a nasendoscopy apparently.
