Racially inappropiate?
Manchester City launch investigation into alleged 'racially inappropriate language' used by youth scouting manager
Manchester City have begun an internal investigation after one of the club’s senior academy figures allegedly referred to black players as “BBQs”, meaning “big, black and quick”.
It's outlined in detail here: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/20 ... priate/amp
Is this over the borderline as racist?.. wondered what you thought?

That's racist. Close thread.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him lose his job over that.

Re: Racially inappropiate?
Whilst it WAS pretty stupid to say, I sort of feel that it wasn't meant as a racist slur or offence as such or an attack on anyone in particular... I'm in two minds still!

You might be right - but he should have had the common sense to realise it was something he shouldn't have said.

Re: Racially inappropiate?
Even if you don't see it as racist (spoiler: it is) it's safe to say he's probably a f***ing terrible coach tactically if he's just lumping all his black players into a group.

This. Don't make stupid, lazy generalities based on race - especially to your employees.

Ignorant pub "banter" that's inappropriate for anyone in a professional role to say.
Probably wasn't meant in a malicious way, more likely the guy is just a dopey cronut.

You'd get away with that on a building site, but not in that kind of environment. I'll presume he didn't mean it maliciously, but stupid thing to say in a professional environment.
